no , i have to see something about it , why it is more costly than d 610 ?

For all intents and purposes, the D500 is Nikon's D850 for APS-C people.

I know you're into full frame pretty heavily, but if you shoot sports, have you considered a D500? You'd use the same lenses.

Because the D500 is Nikon’s pro-level APS-C body and the D-610 is the entry-level full frame body.
Apples and oranges.

I need a second camera body and my decision is around Nikon D610 , big screen , light weight , I read very few comments on this camera that supersedees D600 .
I like to have some comments on it and I can choose an alternative too , used of course .
Your comments are welcome

I have a D610. Overall it's been good. But one area that is not good is the lack of a true exposure simulation in live view.

"...Gianfranco, my recommendation is another D4S..." like Bob said... This is SOP for commercial shooters I assist and I've followed their wisdom... I have two D3x's for studio work and two D3's for shooting sports.

This has proven invaluable when I have an issue... I simply attempt to duplicate the issue on the other body.

The second most compelling concern is "Muscle Memory" which for shooting commercially is paramount!
The camera then become a viable "Tool" not a new toy...

btw, I tried a D610 for a year, then sold it back to B&H. While it has superb IQ for static subjects it is decidedly not an effective tool for sports/action. It has the old D7000 39 focus points with only 9 being cross-type... These reduced number of focus sensors only cover the center of the screen. a.k.a. it's not effective for tracking sports/action/wildlife... and is very slow to "Lock" focus compared to my D3 and D3x.

So yes the D610 is a wonderful "Landscape" and possibly "Architectural Photography" tool... just rethink using it for action photography.

Hope this helps Gianfranco...

My guess is that it has the same focus system as the D5 as well as the same processor. This is why I suggested it if you shoot sports. What does it go for used?

ideal price according my budget for a D3S is 600$, of course with less than 200.000 counts

Best I’ve seen at the moment is $729. https://www.mpb.com/en-us/used-equipment/used-photo-and-video/used-digital-slr-cameras/used-nikon-digital-slr-cameras/nikon-d3s/sku-1147786/

Be patient. One may show up

If you are still looking for a good Camera and if you are serious, then PM me and I could sell a D750 for $1400. It has a very low shutter count. I still have the Original Box and Booklet to go with it, plus I have a $40 book from David Busch that I could sell you also. Just let me know. My Name is Nicholas Zografos.
