Second Covid Shot

Have had both shots (Pfizer). No reaction at all to first one; slightly sore arm after second. On the other hand, I have several friends who were out of commission for a day or two after the second one.
[quote=jerryc41]I've been hearing a lot online and locally about people being very sick for a day or two after the second Covid shot (either kind). Many people experience nothing more serious than a sore arm, though. Our local school was closed for a few days because so many teachers had bad reactions to their second shot.
When I got my second shot this past Tuesday, I was warned of that, but I did not even get a sore arm. I am one of the lucky ones, I guess.

Have any of you gotten sick after the second one? I get my second on March 3. A friend got an appointment at a site two hours away, and then she got one locally. She's gong to try to go there with her husband and have him get the shot. She called and asked about it, and they said it's worth a try. Any opinions on that?

My wife and I are Snowbirds on the Gulf. Came down from Illinois first of April. They were saying no non-residents allowed to get shots. Changed their minds and we waited from 4:30 AM and finished at 11:00 AM with the first shot. We now have an appt for the second Moderna shot. A pharmacist told me to start drinking electrolytes a few days before the shot. As mentioned; do NOT take Tylenol or Advil BEFORE the shot. We had zero problems after the first shot. Time will tell about the second one March 11th.
Sore arm 2.5 days after shot 1. Barely sore arm 24 hours after second shot.
But who believes that only two shots will be needed this year after the mutations get widespread.
This is the Future.

My wife and I were are fortunate enough to receive both Moderna shots. I felt nothing (no brain no pain) from either and my wife was tired and a little achy the next day!
We feel a lot safer now but are going to remain being careful....
A number of people mentioned a short term sore arm. Do you need to get both shots in the same arm?

I was given a choice of arms - most people get it in the less dominant arm (left arm if you're right handed).

Thanks. I'm scheduled for Wednesday if it doesn't get cancelled.

My wife and I have both had both shots (Pfizer) and have had no negative reactions at all. We knew that some people experienced chills and a fever after the second shot but we suffered no noticeable reaction. My limited experience based upon word of mouth is that more people with the Moderna vaccine are have reactions to the second shot - but that is a very limited sample size. I believe we should expect that there will be some "booster" shots developed to account for the mutations of the virus. Additionally, I expect that we may very well have a Covid-19 shot annually at some point.

I had my first Moderna shot on 2/16, nothing openly negative, just very slight drowsiness within two hours after, similar to something you feel after having couple of shots of liquor.
I said either and was advised by the RN to use my dominant arm(for me right) as it will be the arm I will be using and the working of the arm will be helpful. That brought back that in Basic Training we went in and got a bunch of shots and then went to PT. We complained so the Tach (Sargent) OK next week after the shots (2nd Set) we will take a brake, and we did and all ended up with our arms aching.
My wife and I ( age 67 and 73 ) had a sore arm for 24 hrs. The second Moderna shot ( left arm first and second in the right arm ) produced a sore arm for 3-4 days. Also though temp of 102, nausea, chills, rigors, and drenching sweats. This lasted from 10 hrs after the shot until 48 hrs later. Now one week later i still have minimal arm soreness. Better than covid.
After 2nd Maderna shot, sore arm .. Thas all
What a bunch of pussies. Take the shots and let's put an end to this mass insanity.

Great - insult all the people who responded to the thread. They all have already gotten the shots, so how are they pussies? I'm still waiting for my second shot, and I find it interesting what side effects people have had. It won't effect my taking the second shot.
