I am interested in how you feel about Nikon as an investment over Canon for young professionals breaking into the business. I've been following the downfall of Nikon for a while and it seems like they just don't have the "umph" to keep up.
Full disclosure: I shoot Nikon weddings, portraits, landscapes. I am well aware of the Nikon quality. I am interested in your oppinion on Ken's comments.

Sony is now making Nikon's high-end sensors. They've embedded a clever bug into the Nikon cameras with these Sony sensors: the Nikon DSLR suddenly dies after a encrypted number of flips of the mirror the sensor can detect as different from the original Sony mirrorless cameras. Just look online for 'Nikon Sudden Death Syndrome'. I've seen a thread where they think from your Nikon serial number you can identify the week number in the calendar year (01 -> 53) your camera is most likely to die. The syndrome isn't even very hush-hush.

This is such bullshit it is hard to even give it any energy with a comment.
I like my Nikon but when its dead, I will reevaluate my position .I read that article a few weeks ago. One thing I have learned in life, if I follow everyone else , i'll always be a follower and never a leader . ( Bruce Kafer 2018)
I don't want to be the leader!! the leader is the first Mouse the second mouse gets the cheese!!!
Why deliberately add to the false information floating around?
I have used Nikon, Canon and Sony systems both personally and professionally. All have their advantages and disadvantages, and all deserve the courtesy of fair reviews. I can only conclude that you are insecure about your own choice of equipment, envious perhaps of certain things others have that you don't, and your response is to spread lies to try to destroy that which you envy.
When I used to shoot professionally in the 1970’s I used a Minolta and my partner used a Nikon. That’s was one great camera. Forward to today, he still shoots professionally with a Nikon. Financially they are having problems, but according to him they're still making great cameras. 📸
It’s a race. Will they be shut down due to poor financial performance before they can come up with a competitive model?
They are producing cameras, not rocket ships to the moon. What race? It's just about market share and no more of a race than new models of Ford, GM and Toyota.

Nikon rumors, Ken Rockwell (grain of salt required)....... I've never had a sensor issue with either my Nikon or Sony cameras.... (of interest to me) my D7100 and D7200 supposedly have Toshiba sensors, while Sony is used heavily throughout the brand, and some Nikon sensors..... Here is a listing I found (no peer review) so well, you know...., I've seen a listing like this before, interesting anyway. https://nikonrumors.com/2015/12/16/list-of-all-nikon-dslr-cameras-and-their-sensor-manufacturerdesigner.aspx/

What a load of BS! Why would a company deliberately destroy it's own reputation? Sony also makes sensors for Fuji, Hasselblad and Pentax amoung others. Sounds to me like the bug is in your own thinking.
