I am interested in how you feel about Nikon as an investment over Canon for young professionals breaking into the business. I've been following the downfall of Nikon for a while and it seems like they just don't have the "umph" to keep up.
Full disclosure: I shoot Nikon weddings, portraits, landscapes. I am well aware of the Nikon quality. I am interested in your oppinion on Ken's comments.

I have purchased Nikon cameras and lenses since 2005 and have always been satisfied with their quality. The latest offerings both DSLR and mirrorless are impressive to say the least and not indicative of a company looking to exit camera sales. IMO the biggest problem faced by Nikon and the other camera manufacturers is a soft market similar to when SLRs reigned supreme. The spark that drove tremendous growth was digital back in the early 2000’s.They all need to find that “spark” to drive the public into purchasing again. Mirrorless is a great innovation and product but I have not seen any spark that will overcome this soft market. In the meantime I have no problem purchasing Nikon products new or used and have no interest in reviewing their Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss or any other of their financials before purchasing.
