Faststone Viewer is FREE and does a good slide show with transitions and music.

I am sampling ON1 as an organization and editing software with their free trial. It has no slideshow creation module. If I stay with it and cut the Adobe cord, I would like some slideshow software.

For any UHH’s who are not using LR/PS and create slideshows, what software are you using to do so?

Check out Pro Show Gold at http://www.photodex.com/proshow/gold. it’s excellent and easy to learn. They have lots of examples and tutorials plus a free trial download.

No question that Pro Show Gold is the gold standard for slide shows but it is costly. It does offer a free trial so see if it is what you need and compare it to Faststone free, which may be more than adequate for the your use.

Agree with the previous 8 posts on ProShow (Gold or Producer) by Photodex.

Takes time and patience to learn it but well worth it once you get the feel of it; if style and fancy is what you want.

Here's a slideshow (video) I created using ProShow. Photos are through the courtesy of a fellow UHH, joer (Joe R.), a master in taking photos of small birds.

Photodex Proshow Producer; it is kind'a expensive and it probably is the best program available.

Does not look like this software will burn DVD?

DVD? Be careful of that. 720 by 480 is the default pixel "resolution" of the very old fashioned, for tube TV, DVD standard. Viewed on any current TV screen, that can pretty much ruin a digital image from any current camera or editing system.

A lot of DVD players will read JPEGs copied as data to a DVD disc. Playback timing and control depend on the DVD player.

For the ones still doubting my info about Photodex & their products Gold & Prducer my want to read the link below.... Believe me, I didn’t want to believe it either because I have been using it for a long time & have so many shows created using Producer. I’m just trying to keep others from investing time in building shows using these programs.

Any idea why they are discontinuing their products? Their software seems to be extremely popular...

At least we can still use what we have, that is until operating system upgrades make it unusable!

Well, that’s a timely bit of info. I was just about to buy it based on all of the good reviews and recommendations in response to my question. Back to studying other options I guess. Thank you !!!

Sounds like they're going out of business.

Pro Show Gold is about $80, Producer is closer to $250 but it’s for pro's who are selling their productions. I found Gold to be very easy to learn.
