Mo,
I remember when conservtives wanted to fix things that were wrong. When did the conservative movement morph into the, "there's nothing we can do" movement.

Question Conservative Answer

Mass shootings There's nothing we can do
Gun violence There's nothing we can do
Opioid Addiction There's nothing we can do
Income ine******y There's nothing we can do
Poverty There's nothing we can do

In fact, the only answer I ever hear from your side is;

Immigration Build a wall.

How about you return to the roots of your movement when you actually accomplished things.
When Eisenhower built the interstate highway system is a good example. I didn't read any books that said his answer to the question of how we were going to move cargo coast to coast as being "we cant do anything"
Mo, br I remember when conservtives wanted to fix... (show quote)

All this from a guy who supports infanticide! Way to knock it out of the park Frank.

Hey I got an idea....why don't we just make mass shootings legal and the problem is solved.

So, how many is considered a mass shooting? Is that number of dead? or merely dead and wounded? What if all of the victims were just wounded? Is that still a mass shooting. My guess is yes it is, but we need to set a minimum limit.

We need to have a scorecard if we are going to legalize this sort of thing.

From memory, FBI stats say average “mass shootings” 18 people get hurt. When a good guy with a gun is present: 2

I realize that means many current gun owners will have to turn in their's. lol

Stereotyping makes this post more dangerous than any firearm I have ever owned or handled.

The libs always want more gun control, but are always more than willing to trample on the rights of law-abiding gun owners to get their way.

We already have a background check system in place when purchasing a gun through a Federally-licensed dealer. The breakdown in the system is when law enforcement fails to keep the Instant Check System updated when people are convicted of violent crimes, or when a lawful court order is executed to prevent so-called "crazies" and those having court orders in place for domestic violence. As an example, Dylann Roof was not allowed to own firearms, but one of the court systems in South Carolina failed to update the Federal system with his correction. How is that the fault of legitimate gun owners? The k**ler in Florida was on the radar of local, county, state, and Federal law enforcement, but still carried out his spree while at least one deputy sheriff stood by and did nothing.

If you lie on the Form 4473 background check, it's a Federal offense, but few folks are prosecuted for breaking the law.

You want people who are mentally ill from buying firearms. That's all right, but you must go through the courts to get a valid court order. People accused of crimes or mental illnesses have due process rights, and they must be upheld.

Firearms of any type are private property, and the means to seize that property has to be adjudicated in a court of law, with the defendant having the opportunity for a fair hearing, with legal counsel.

We also have private property rights guaranteed. How a person disposes of private property is their business in most cases. If you want to try and usurp that right, take your case to the Supreme Court, and let them adjudicate it.

The uproar over firearms is, in part, a canard. The liberal left in this country doesn't care a whit about due process and individual rights.
The libs always want more gun control, but are alw... (show quote)

It’s kind of hard using facts and reason when dealing with the f*****t progressive wingnuts on this site....all they can do is scream the platitudes given to them by their nutso masters on NBC affiliates, CNN, etc.

I think most rational conservatives already embrace those three points. Discussion of solutions for that would be welcome. We have background checks, but the systems need work.

Requiring a background check before you loan a friend your rifle is over the top. Background checks at gun show sales would be workable if and when the system gets made real time.

Debates about magazine capacity and banning "assault weapons" (means scary looking irrespective of function) get more troublesome and do not address the three issues.

Criminals really don’t purchase guns via retail shops or gun shows. They obtain them from the black market. Underground networks.

They don’t use background checks ever. They are criminals you know.

Lefties need to learn to think.

I already have them, but I'm not mentally incompetent, a felon or a domestic abuser.
That's what it's all about. Not denying anyone guns but denying the wrong people guns.
