thanks joe for your support i also like this pic,but i thought the face looked too bright for the backround. How would i be able to get rid of shows for next time? not in pp
the easiest way is to use a reflector, if you don't have a reflector with you (cause really what Mom carries one with her everywhere) you can use a white shirt, a light coloured building, tin fold.
i like a mom who can understand another mom,its sometimes too hard to even bring the camera along .i took this shot while waiting for my five years old bus and my two little babies in the phil&ted
so how exactly would i do that with a white shirt? "curious"

as I stated[i think],,the shadows showing is what brings out the pic--early morn/cold/I see you mommie/I'm safe/wish I were in my warm bed/brrrrr--...only thing I can think of,would be sharper focus on the eyes[not possible without manual focus{you were using a P&S,right?}]..otherwise I feel it is a beautiful pic.. thanks--joe
i was using a d3100 on program to get a reading,i dont own a p&s ,i was using film slr until about 8 months ago
obviously i didnt know what i was doing, and i guess i still dont.but i am very motivated to learn"by the time i turn 40 i will be a professional wedding photographer"

Yeah, the histogram dies off well before the right/bright edge. It's underexposed.
Yep yep I adjusted just the histogram... here is the result
I like the way this one turned out.

how's this photo exposed? i feel like it might be overexposed ,and her skin color looks off what does everyone else think?(im very impressed with the advice ppl give on this forum)im really trying to learn so pls be honest. Thanks hila nikon d3100 f5.6 ,1/2000,iso250,55mm.
Very cute! I like the "composition" Way to warm up an obviously cold "scene"
To use a white shirt, et.al., to lighten up your shadows, hold it like a flag on the side of the face opposite the light source. Believe it or not it will reflect some of the light to the side of the face where the shadows are "landing". If the shadows are lighter, they will be there to give the face "dimension", but not so dark to overwhelm the subject.
Experiment with it on your "off" time...most moms have tons of that!! LOL
lol danilo thanks for the tip, 6yr 5yr 2yr 8month old i have all the time in the world.i will give that a try on my next round of buses!
Try it with a mirror, or a piece of tinfoil first, just to get the idea, then switch to the shirt/towel/pillow case, etc. But use the mirror to exaggerate the effect so it's easy for you to see how it's working before you switch to the white.
Have fun!

white shirt if someone is wearing it, you can have them stand just off to the side to bounce some light back.
Ohh don't get me started on trying to learn photography with a growing herd, it's a challenge and a nightmare at times, but then so is almost anything you coulple with motherhood. :)
