I have experienced multiple failures of camera straps. Lost a $1,500 lens due to failure of Nikon straps. Now I use wide luggage straps with more secure clips and split keyrings at the attachment point. Most luggage comes with an accessory strap and I found we several sitting around. They are easy to adjust and the wider strap is more comfortable. I use the strap to sling the camera under my arm with the lens pointing back and the camera upside down. This makes it very easy to rotate it forward and up for shots. I also keep one hand on the camera most of the time as a back-up. It helps if the clips are lockable. Note in the photo that the clips rotate which minimizes twisting of the strap. I use this setup with my Sigma 150-600 Sport lens, but the strap is easy to move to the camera for smaller lens setups.

Are any of you people actually looking at the photos that were posted? The blacks are gray, the whites are gray, which is why they look flat and slightly "hazy". What does this indicate? NOT cataracts. NOT condensation. NOT a dirty sensor or a bad memory card! LOW CONTRAST! UNDEREXPOSURE! Very simple if you just LOOK at the photos!

Agree completely with CatMarley. Easy fix.

Why would anyone put a Sigma lens on a high end Nikon body? Get the Nikon 200-500!

I have the Nikon 80-400 4.5-5.6 but it died from an impact with a tile floor in Costa Rica. (Faulty camera straps is a whole other topic for the future!)

Looking for something affordable and with the reach I need.
I have seen no bad reviews of the Sigma telephoto.
Someone local (west Chicago suburbs) uses the Sigma 150-600 lens and captures the best wildlife images with a Canon 7D Mark II. His photos are the best I have ever seen. I believe there are people in this group who would agree that the Sigma lenses offer good value and quality. I weighed budget restrictions for a long time before making the decision. The USB hub was a compelling feature.

Did you get the same results with and without the teleconverter?

Tried both ways (w/teleconverter & without) just to be sure. Also tried full range 120-300. Also tried manual focus through viewfinder and LED screen. Determined the lens was defective. All blurry. Notified Sigma and returned it. Hoping for better results with the 150-600 Sport. Sigma was horrified when they realized they sent me the much more expensive lens, LOL.
I was somewhat disappointed that Sigma would send out a refurbished lense without checking that it works. The 120-300 is discontinued and the lens appeared brand new.

The lens / camera combination should be expected to work, regardless of the manufacturer. The sensor expects the image hitting it to be in focus. Nikons are quality cameras and have quality sensors. If the camera is working with other lenses, even just Nikon lenses, it should be working with the Sigma.

If your camera is working with other lenses, then the problem is with this Sigma lens. Maybe it needs an alignment or maybe it is damaged. You won't know unless it is inspected by an expert. Send it back and let Sigma fix it. Regardless of how expensive the lens is, it is useless if you can't use it.

Thank you. The camera bodies work with all of my Nikon lenses so it is likely an issue with the Sigma lenses. I am going to return the lens and get the 150-600 I initially ordered.
I shoot primarily wildlife and really need the extra reach. It hurts to send back such a nice lens but if it does not work...

Sounds like a great deal, but if the 120-300 lens is not the "SPORT" version the USB hub won't work on it.

It was the Sport version.
I am returning it and getting the 150-600 Sport.
I need the reach it has.

I placed an order with Sigma for a refurbished 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports and a 1.4x teleconverter.
They mistakenly sent me a much more expensive and very nice 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM lens, which initially got me very excited.
I have two Nikon D7000 bodies.
I tried the lens on both bodies using a tripod and could not get a sharp image, even with Nikon fine tuning adjustments in the body.

I am wondering if this is usual for Sigma telephotos on 7000 series Nikon bodies?
Has anybody else had this issue?

I plan on ordering the Sigma USB hub today in case I need it to get a reasonable focus adjustment.
I am worried that I will encounter the same issue when the send me the 150-600 that I initially ordered.

Your thoughts are very much appreciated.

Primarily to share the world that I see, which is often from a unique perspective. Sharing allows others to see a world they might otherwise miss.
Beyond that, to preserve memories.

I use an inexpensive screw-on lens that came as part of a kit and it provides reasonable results while I save for a real macro lens.
I was worried about chromatic aberration but it has not been an issue. Because I am shooting handheld from about 3" from the subject (which keeps moving) I tend to not use the focus ring and instead simply move in and out until the subject is in focus. That and taking a lot of shots to ensure I get the right focus.

A lot depends on how much you plan to use it.
I have Asus Q534UX-BHI7T19 2-in-1 15.6" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop (7th Gen Intel Core i7-7500U, 16GB Ram, 512GB SSD + 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GTX 950M Thunderbolt, Windows 10) Chocolate Black Aluminum Hairline.
Around $1,300 for a very powerful machine.
The 4k resolution is excellent for photos. The solid-state start-up drive opens Windows within seconds and the 2TB HDD allows plenty of storage for images. It also has touch screen capability. After comparing with comparable laptops from Dell, Microsoft, and HP among others I determined that this one provides more value for $$ spent. It has no issuesrunning Adobe Suite software for post processing. It weighs 8.5 lbs.
You can get it for less with a 1TB storage drive if you don't wish to keep a back-up archive on your laptop. Maybe too pricy for occasional use but if you travel a lot it is priceless.

You could try applying different Photoshop Artistic filters after enlarging to see if they improve the image. They can often mask issues with excess enlargement by covering with an art effect. This may be attractive to the people requesting the enlargement.
