HI there Happy New Year everyone.
I am experiencing a problem. My Nikon D5100 is no longer taking clear shots. The quality has gone way down, I have been reusing the memory card for about three years now. Could that be the problem? The photos are now looking like there is a haze over them. I never had this problem before. I have not changed a thing in the way I take the shots. I took it to a local camera store and the guy cleaned the camera but it doesn't help.
Igot the camera from Andorama a few years ago.
I am really very distressed about this. I cannot afford a new camera at this time. Can anyone help me on this?
Thank you.

Have you tried different lenses? If you post a picture here and click on (store original), we might be able to offer some ideas. The "haze" is a good hint. The guy probably cleaned the sensor, so that should be all right.
I would check your lens. Are they out of focus? Have you cleaned your contacts on the camera and lens so you know if that could be the problem. Are you using a tripod? I always try to find the problem by eliminations process.

Yes I brought a new portrait lens and the same problem is happening. I am very upset. I am not a pro but people ask me to take their pictures all the time. I am the family and friends photo gal. I guess I'll have to go back to the shop.
Like old timer said clean the contacts on the camera and the lens. My 610 started with the same behavior a few months ago. Now the photos are tack sharp again. Also I am not sure if you have the option to auto fine tune your body to each lens. That might also help

Where or how do I get that "auto tune"?
Thanks

You are living in the Catskills? I sent my childhood near the Catskill game farm near a place called HIGH PEAK which was once my family's children's camp grounds and school. That was many years ago.. in the 1940 and 1950's. The name of the family was Sciaky. the land was sold to the owner of the game farm.
I seriously doubt that the memory card is the problem.
(Easily checked with another card.)
Up load a picture and I'll take a shot in the dark....white balance? You got me!
Some questions come to mind ;
1 auto or manual focus ?
2 do you format the memory card ?
3 have you put on tripod to help check focus ?
4 dose it look in focus through the viewfinder ?

Yes, I'm about fifteen miles from where the Game Farm was. This is still a beautiful area.
