I don't understand by digital cameras have to be so big and heavy!

It does appear that must of the camera companies seem to have forgotten the mirrorless cameras we're thought of as being smaller and lighter than their cousin the DSLR.
Take a look at Olympus. They have a couple cameras that still are small but mighty.
I shot an Olympus OMD 5mkII. It's 24 megapixels but is capable of shooting in hi resolution node which give you 50 megapixal shots. It has a lot of great features. They should be coming out with a mkIII soon.
You can get this camera new for $600.00. They also make a smaller model, I don't recall the model vbut it is an OMD so it is pro level made for travel.
Also Olympus has kept the weight of the lenses down as compared to other companies. With the Micro Four Thrirds system the crop give you almost double when compared to a full frame lens.
So if you want a pro level camera that doesn't weigh a ton lol at Olympus OMD line.
Even the new full frame camera mated with Olympus pro level lenses is a lighter package the it's counterparts

Dear Hedgers,
With all your help & generous advice I am narrowing my focus & upping my price range search for a camera that I will be satisfied shooting. What do you think about the Olympus E-M5ll??
Comments? Anyone had experience with this Olympus or its comparable products?? Comments??
Thank you.

I used to shoot strictly Canon for years. I had an extensive lens collection as well. Then I had major neck surgery and carrying around a Canon 5mkIii with a 70-200 lens became too much.
After much consideration, exploring and talking with other professionals I was turned on to Olympus. What a great camera. I currently have an Olympus 5mkii and I love it. With the features on this camera, I can shoot anything I desire. If I need a 50 megapixel shot for a client you can do that. And with the composition mode, it can do so really cool shoots. The images are excellent. I spoke to a pro who uses both the Olympus 5mkii and a Canon full frame. He did a study of his work and found his clients were choosing photos that were shot on the micro 4/3rds system rather than the full frame photos. He got rid of his Canon gear.
If it's a full frame issue I suggest looking at the new Olympus full frame. It is a bigger camera but it far lighter than most full frame cameras and it still uses the same micro 4/3rds lens. The camera is incredible. But if you don't need that the OMD 5mkii is just right.

It appears to be a custom Harley Davidson. The engine is a Harley or a llok a like such as S@S. The body work is definitely been stretched and a custom seat. But basically it is a Harley Davidson Full Dress bike.

I saw her here in NYC a few years back. If I remember right it may have been her ladt public performance. She had already lost a leg to diabetes. But it didnt stop her beautiful voice and magnificent piano playing. I wish I could remember exactly when and where this concert was. I do remember it being over by Lincoln Center.
A friend of our use to travel with Shirley when ahe was on the road.

I had 3 alligator gar fish as pets. Got them from someone who was trying to kill them. Very little nasty water left in a fish tank with no filtration. Got the fish home cleaned up the 55 gal. tank they came with and bought some filters.
I had 5 fish tanks in those days so one more didnt matter. The gar were 15, 16 ,and 18inches long and aye 100 goldfish a week. My neighbors and their kids would stop by to watch feeding time. Never tried eating gar.

I have an Olympus OM-D 5 Mk2. I have had it about 6 months. I purchased it because my Canon gear was just to heavy. I had surgery on my neck and regular DSLRs really bother my neck. I have used different types of straps but even that caused my neck problems. I also travel quite a bit and carrying the gear through airports also was a problem
I really like this camera. It takes great photos. It has a 16 megapixel sensor but the camera can take a photo using tech that makes a 40 megapixel photo. If you use good lenses the camera takes good photos in low light. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I still use the DSLR for work though I have started to use the Olympus more as I have learned all the nauseas of the camera. I hope this helps you.

The saddest thing about the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus closing is to hear them blame it on the elephants. Though it is probably true just not for the reason they claim.
The fact of the matter is the elephants did much more than perform, they were the backbone of the circus. They put up the tents, hauled carts and whatever else took alot a strength. The cost of using manpower is to much. What it should tell you is how much these great creature were used and abused.
When people first complained about the treatment of the elephants all the circus had to do was treat the elephant better. But the trainers insisted they needed to use torture devices to control the elephants. The animals are not intended to be hauled around in small cages for their entire lives.
The UniverSoul Circus has been around for about 20 yrs. No live wild animal tricks. Its all about the performers. If you havent had a chance to see the UniverSoul Circus its well worth the ticket.

I wish you the best of luck. If his parents were into photography I would think it will be a link to remember them by. Plus he can share his view of how he sees the world. I hope this works out for him.

There is a site online that has manuals for most cameras. It is a donation based site. So you leave a donation if you get help. He has all the major brands and models. I can't think of the sites name off the top of my head. But if you put into the search engine cameras manuals.

Even if they do stuff 52 mega pixels into a phone the sensor is only so big so the pixels have to be very small. The lenses used in camera phones are fixed. There is no way they can let in the amount of light of a interchangeable lens.

I was just in Mexico and carried my camera gear on the plane. I was never asked any questions nor did they look in the bag. I am not sure if it will be tougher returning from Japan or not. Good luck with your trip?

I got a new laptop and I was going to install Lightroom and On 1. I have Windows 8.1 for an operating system (which I hate). My laptop is only 32 bit and that where the problems come from. On 1 is a 64 bit program and Lightroom runs better when using a 64 bit system. In fact the next version of Lightroom will be 64 bit. I have not worked with Lightroom mobile so I am not sure how plugins work with it. But agaian On 1 is a 64bit program.

Just a warning for any of you that purchase things from others on this site. Monday pennyp placed a Waucom Intous tablet on the site for sale. I sent her a message telling I wanted the tablet but I was away until today and I would send the money than. She did not keep her word and hold it. Instead she decided to continue accepting bids like it was eBay. Be careful in the future of this seller.
