Interest in film photography has been slowly increasing over the past few years. With that in mind, you could try contacting the fine arts departments of local community colleges or universities to see if they would be interested in accepting donations of film equipment you no longer want.

There won't be a new Df as there is nothing can be done.

I don't understand what you mean by "nothing can be done". Are you saying Nikon can't upgrade the processor or sensor, can't offer interchangeable viewfinders, can't make mechanical improvements?

Back in the day, there used to be free websites where you could go and enter a phone number and the site would generally return the name and location information of the phone's subscriber - a reverse phone number lookup. However it appears, to me at least, that free reverse look-ups have gone the way of the Dodo bird. Now I can still enter a phone number in a search bar and a whole flock of "free" sites pop up, but I just can't seem to find any that will actually give you the subscriber data for free. They dance around and tease you a bit, but in the end they either require you to pay or link you to a pay site for the actual information.

Unless someone knows of a site that actually gives you subscriber data for free, I'm kind of accepted that if I want a true reverse phone number lookup I'm going to have to sign on to a site and pay for that information. With that in mind, what sites do my fellow Hoggers recommend that are affordable and accurate?

Always check your cameras settings before you shoot.

Ansel Adams practice was to reset his cameras to their base settings before putting them away at the end of the shoot.

I will look at the MX922 again. Does it have a FAX capability?
Thanks, Photodoc16

Yes, the MX922 is a full four function all in one printer. It also has a duplex automatic document feed and 2 sided printing so you can copy 2 sided documents automatically.

the only (Canon) all-in-one printer is their MX922 which seems to be a Dog from user reviews.

I have the Canon MX922 which I bought to replace my MX882 when the MX882 died. I am very happy with the MX922, my only complaint with it is that it does not have a rear feed tray for envelopes/photo paper etc like the MX882 did. So to print envelopes/photo paper you have to unload the 8-1/2" x 11" paper from the paper tray, adjust the paper guides for whatever you are printing, print and then reset the guides and replace your paper. A bit of a PITA but fortunately not very time consuming. As for print quality I see no difference between the MX882 and the MX922, I am completely satisfied with my MX922. The MX922 is $83.99 on Amazon Prime, I paid close to $400 when I bought the MX882!

This makes the most sense in Canon has the option. I renamed Nikon DSC to my 3 initials. There is no need to look for any fields or use any software. The file names all start with my initials.

As Bill mentioned, if your cameras support custom image filenames this would be the surest bet. I have Nikon D300, D610 and D3X cameras and they all support this feature. Nikons by default name image files DSC_nnnn, where nnnn is simply a counter that increments with each shot. On my D610 for example, I changed the image name to 6AA_nnnn (the 6 indicating it is the D610). Once I get to 6AA_9999 I will change the image name to 6AB_nnnn to avoid duplicate filenames. That way I can shoot roughly 6,760,000 images before I run out of filenames.

Actually, Konica made some very good lenses, some of the best for the period, not just the 40mm f/1.8. I have several that I use with excellent results on my Nikon bodies.

And keep in mind if you sell on eBay, you pay a 10% sellers fee to eBay and roughly 3% to Paypal on the selling price + shipping.

I wouldn't worry much about run-off!

My point was most of the area is building roofs. In a heavy rain all that water running off the roofs will end up in the few narrow streets and paths. That will be a lot of water in a very limited area; an inch or so of rain might cause some pretty severe flooding.

Not much chance for kids to make money mowing lawns either. I can imagine what the runoff is like during a heavy rain!

Well lets see:
$3500/month for childcare?
Almost $2000/month for food for a family of four? Who plans their meals, Lobsterboy? I feed myself and 4 teens for under $800/month and we eat pretty damn well.
$18,000/year for vacations?
$9,500/year for clothing (nothing fancy)?

I need someone to pay me $500K a year so I can determine if these (and the other figures quoted) are reasonable!
