Just bought the Canon 5D Mark4. I'm looking to sell my Canon 6D. I bought this camera New from Samys Camera shop in Pasadena CA. about 2 years ago. It is in excellent condition. What do you think is a fair price.

Check ebay to see what they have sold for there or KEH for used ones then drop a couple of hundred to move it fast.

You may wish to keep your 6D as a backup camera.

Really depends on where you live. I live in urban Portland 6 blocks from a great brick and mortar. They have a 6d for $1095 "with accessories". Bear in mind this is a consignment price and the shop gets 30%. I have sold stuff there to avoid the hassle. Generally, I think you'll get more selling person-to-person. I would only sell via Craig's List in person and cash only. I'd meet up at a Starbucks....

Look it up on Ebay, look down the left column and find SHOW ONLY, then under that click box by SOLD LISTINGS, then you can see what your item sold for, that is about what you can get on ebay for your item, lots of used shops use this to determine the value in todays market.

I currently shoot with a 6D, which I've had for almost 5 years. I plan to buy the 6D Mark ll when it comes out this summer, assuming the upgrade is close to the rumor mill projections. After some research, I think I will be unable to realize more than $700 for my old 6D and so plan to keep it as a back-up.

I also have the 5D IV and the 6D. The 6D is such a good camera, I would never get rid of it. It's a workhorse and I can bring it places I would not bring the 5D. But, new 6Ds go for about $1200, so I would ask half of that. Other than dropping the camera, the only important breakdownable things are the shutter wearing out and having to be replaced and the mirror function can fail, but they do and that's why I probably would not buy a used one, except maybe from an outfit like B&H who can check the "odometer" of the shutter and the condition of the mirror. If you're a hobbyist, obviously you don't need both cameras, but personally, I think it's worth more owning it than what you'd get selling it. JMHO

I wish I had done this as well - spend $$ on the Canon 5D Mk IV instead of the Nikon D750. Big mistake.

Bought one refurbished from Canon for $1100 - which included a one-year warranty. If yours has not been beaten up and does not have a ton of shutter clicks on it, $900 might be reasonable. $800 to move it fast. As already mentioned - be careful with any Craigslist transactions.

Ditto. I bought my refurb from Canon for $1099. I think if I was going to sell it now I'd probably want minimum of $800, but would want to get $900 if possible.

You've mapped my upgrade plan.
