I'd go with bunch only after picked. Agree with cluster.

Old joke. First told by Native Americans when the first Europeans arrived. ;-)

An excellent read for those who have the time and are interested in such things:

"It's Even Worse Than It Looks", by Thomas E. Mann

An interesting perspective on the history, reality and future of a sharply divided body politic.

You may want to take a look at the Nexus 7. Most reviews are highly favorable and I love mine. Great for downloading ebooks and audiobooks and internet access is great. High screen resolution and nice photo capability. Easy to download kindle and nook aps so it will do virtually anything either of the others will do. It doesn't have a forward facing camera which is an issue for some and the shiny screen may be less easily read in direct sunlight. I haven't had problems that way. I bought the 32 GB version from Radio Shack for $250 and got $50. worth of store coupons along with it. Runs on one of, if not the latest, Android O.S. I'm basically ignorant on those more technical aspects. Whatever you get, good luck with it.

Offhand, Frank, I'd say you've touched a bit of a nerve. Can't let the thread ending without a brief note of support.
All comes down to whose ox is being gored. Darn shame, though, isn't it, that we find it so hard to disagree without invoking epithets and demeaning comments?

Favorite single book is Needful Things, but the Darktower series is great!

I'm shooting with an Alpha 500 and downloading to a MacBook using Picasa on OSX-10.
Would like to be able to project pictures on to a screen or wall.
Anyone had experience with this kind of setup?
Interesting in success and costs.
Thanks,
Rob

O.K. So it does sound like a "Raw Issue"! Will try Adobe ACR and let y'all know how it turns out.
Thanks!

I'm shooting with a Sony Alpha 500 and downloading to a MacBook running iPhoto.
No problems for a couple of years, and none now except for single batch of a dozen photos I took last week.
They show up beautifully on the screen along with more recent shots but when I attempt to download them I get an "Unreadable 14" message.
"/private/var/folders/QT/......./iPhoto/DSC04998.ARW"
May relate to an attempt to shoot in RAW?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rob

I'm currently using iPhoto on my MacBook (OS X 10) and backing up on a LaCie 500 external hard drive.
Everything seems to be fine except for my most recent back-up.
Older photos show up fine but those from the most recent outing won't open.
"DSCO1621.JPG" is used by MacOSX and cannot be opened."
How do I access this shots, or have I screwed up and lost them?
Hope this is enough info. If not, let me know.
Thanks,
Rob

Bought an item once; direct pay to seller. Wrong item sent. After MUCH hassle, seller refunded my purchase price VIA PAYPAL, but I didn't originally pay with Paypal and had no Paypal account. Never did get my $40.00 back and will never consider PP as buyer or seller. To each his own.

Bull,
Interesting advice. Thanks. I'm guessing that some flash units may not allow the camera's flash hood to fully extend?
Still looking. Thanks for the help, and happy holidays to you and yours!
Rob
