Now it seems that the experts believe the little children ought to decide which they want to be.

The article is speaking about children who are transgender; I believe that they should be allowed to live their lives as the gender that they identify with, why should they be forced to live a lie even at an early age? I am more comfortable with a child dressing and acting like the gender they believe themselves to be than the suicide rate of those forced to conform to what society says they should be.

It seems to me that in the story Ryan was more happy choosing what she wanted to be. I don't think many youngsters have that much fortitude. I feel sorry for these people who are one sex physically and the other mentally. They are caught in the middle.

Either way you look at it, it is still a lie. The inward lie that we tell ourseleves and an outward lie that we tell others who see us not for what we are but for what we want others to think we are. I am who I was born as, rather I stand to piss or squat, I am that I am.

Ryan is a he. Wearing a dress with long hair does not make he a she. Have an operation, cut the thing off and grow boobs and guess what, he is still a he.

How is living your life as the gender you believe yourself to be a lie? Having an inner or an outty is merly a phyiscal feature, while correctly placed on most, on some it's nothing more than a deformity like a cleft palate.

Didn't you just answer your own question? If you were born a boy and believe yourself to be a girl then that is a lie. I was born rich - I just haven't seen the money yet.

I don't believe that if a child (or person) feels they are the opposite sex and choosing to live their lives as such as a lie. I believe if that person believes they are a girl but were born with boy parts and they live their life as a boy and are unhappy and miserable because of it, that is when they are truly living a lie. Be true to one’s self, if one’s self is contradiction to their physical body, then they should be free to make whatever changes they are comfortable with to make sure they are living their lives to the fullest.

Sometimes Mother Nature makes mistakes, when there are millions of tiny cells trying to form one living, breathing thing, miscommunication and wires can and do get crossed. Brian wired to be female but Mother Nature forgot to tell the cells that were busy creating the sexual organs and a penis and testis were formed. Thankfully we live in a time where society as a whole is more understanding and medical advances have made it possible to correct those mistakes somewhat.

Bah! Mother Nature doesn't make mistakes,or "wires" either.
Sure, children are drawn to sparkly things, children are primitive creatures. At two,my boy wanted a hair ribbon.
The solution was to take them off the girl.
Neither of them turned out to be "mistakes"!!!!
Children are not qualified to make judgments about what
they WANT contrary to what they ARE.

You are what you were born as! It's our sick, liberal society that thinks it's OK to be something else, and is screwing up the brains of our little ones.

Regardless of my personal feelings about it people should be what they want to be as long as they are not demanding and using government force to make me pay for it. Individual liberty for all is a priority for me.

He may still be a he DNA wise, but if the sex change makes a person happier, who are we to judge them?

When Mother Nature is questioned as not even having a clue to what she is doing because a 3 year old knows better. What a sick twisted world we are reinventing.
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little...

That is sick. The age when a decision like that can be made and acted upon is certainly far north of 3. Makes me sick too.

funny cause I think closed mind people are sick.... just look at the members of the westboro baptist church, they believe anything that does not confirm to their idea of expectable is to be outlawed and deemed "evil"....I'd rather be liberal in my ideas and allow people to be happy with themselves than conservative and beat down others for not believing or living as I do.
