Stephen King....I read many of his books and it would be so hard to choose one above all. But if I had to, I'd go with 'The Stand'.
Now if you want to talk worse, it would be that time he tried to write fantasy......

The Shining. A.lot better than the movie..which was pretty good as well.

All time favorite has to be The Shawshank Redemption it was years before I found out Stephen King had written this.

Favorite single book is Needful Things, but the Darktower series is great!

Look at all the different answers, hardly any of them the same book! It demonstrates what a fantastic writer he is, that so many of his books and stories are different peoples favorite. So many writers have written many books but you mention his/her name and one book will jump out at you, with SK nearly a whole library comes to mind.
