No it does not!! It will not work with any Canon EOS. There are some utility aps that will work for some Canons, but there are some Canons that there is no way other than to send the camera to Canon

It is trolls like you that have kept me away from this forum most of the time for the last couple of years.

Did you read the entire thread???
Incidentally I did do an Internet search before my first post, and that search reinforced that post.

As an earlier poster here said, context is important. Yes TTL can stand for "Transistor Transistor Logic" but that is not in the contact of flash use. in the context of "Camera Flashes" TTL stands for "Through The Lens". I read, and understood the "entire tread" and there was nothing to support your answer" I suggest you go back and read the entire thread!

What is TTL

TTL is "through the lens". Not "transistor transistor logic" as another here said. Google TTL.

And read what I said. The folder names are standardize in a industry specification. If each camera used it's own folder names, then 3rd-party tools (like Photoshop) wouldn't be able to find the photos on the card to download.

No No NO!!! I have both Canon and Pentax DSLR Cameras. If I put an SD card in the Pentax that was used in the Canon, I get two sets of folders as I can clearly see with File Manager. Pentax will put its images in its file folder and Canon will put its images in its file folder.

As far as I know, all major camera brands use the same DCIM folder structure, based of the standard "Design rule for Camera File system" specification.

Yes, but the file names of the folders will be different so you will end up with two sets of folders. Read what I said and think about it. I said you would end up with two sets of folders which does imply that both cameras could write their folders normally.

As larrypage said, only format memory cards in the camera. Doing it on a PC or Mac will not work.

Absolutely incorrect. Formatting in a PC is just as effective as formatting in a camera.
The SD Association (SD Card Mfg Association) has a free utility to format SD Cards on your computer. The only difference, and the real reason camera manufacturers recommend formatting in camera is that the camera creates folders on the card that are specific to the given camera. A camera will create these folders automatically when a card is first used whether the card was formatted in that camera or not. If a card is switched from a different camera, say from a Canon to a Nikon for example, the new camera will create it's own folders and you then end up with 2 (or more) sets of folders on that card. Doing a format in camera will remove foreign folders and create it's own.

Google "SD Formatter" and you will find the SD Association web site where you can get their white papers and formatter. As a learnong exercise put your SD Card into a card reader and go into "File Explorer" on a Windows PC and click on the drive letter assigned to the card. You can then examine the folders i mentioned.

I'm a bit leery of eBay…did a quick search there and limited it to just the lens…prices for the VRII range from 40 to 489 (latter for new…but with the number of bad apples I've heard about on eBay I'm hesitant to go that way even if it saves me a bit of cash. The 489 one is cheaper than new from B&H, Amazon, or more mainstream dealers…but without knowing more about the seller pixelhub it's hard to know who's reputable and who's not…he does have 10,000 positive ratings in the last year and been on eBay since 2011…so he's likely one of the reputable ones…but ya never know.

I have bought cameras on eBay from pixelhub and I would say he is a reputable seller, however, he deals in Grey Market usually, which is probably why he is cheaper on that lens. If there was a descent saving, I personally would not hesitate to buy a lens that was Grey Market, but that is something one has to decide for him/her self.

The original Minox (Riga, also known as the Minox I) was introduced in 1937 two years BEFORE World War Two. The later A,B and C came after the war when production went to Germany from Latvia.

Most people think of Minox as a cold war invention but Nazi spys had them well before.

Minox was developed in 1922 I believe.

The Minox Camera did not come after WWII. It was invented in the early 20's and was used extensively during and following WWII.

There is no such thing as a nikon battery.....read my previous.....spend your money where you want, just understand what you are buying, and make sure if it is a battery, it is the same style, and Mah or more, and made in the USA.

Your incorrect about this. Late model cameras now use batteries that contain chips with firmware code that communicates with the camera. As a result, the camera can recognize and refuse to work with any battery that does not have suitable firmware code. If the battery doesn't have suitable code it doesn't matter what Mah the battery has.

Yes, not so long ago, before camera manufacturers started chipping there batteries with counterfeit detecting code, what you said was valid but not for the D500.

Have used third party batteries (wasabi) for my D7000, but these will not work with my new D500. Are there any third party (read cheaper) EN-EL15 batteries that will work in the D500?

I have no knowledge if there are 3rd party batteries that will work in the Nikon D500 or not, but it would require the 3rd party battery be chipped and have firmware code that would interface correctly with the camera. If such batteries exist they would be advertised as being "fully decoded" meaning the battery company successfully created firmware code that works. I certainly would not buy any 3rd party battery that was not claimed to have "fully decoded" firmware.
