I keep the ponds covered with a net to keep the herins out of the koi. wildlife in any size in enjoyable to watch.

I wondered if batteries might be an issue also. Anyhow I liked it. I also found it intersting that the squirrel didn't give up after one ride.

I live on an Air Force base, and the squirrel mafia is STRONG here. We can't keep the squirrels out of our bird feeders, (that Yankee feeder looks cool, but the squirrels are smarter then that and would just jump on it until the bird seed was completely on the ground). So I took a scrap piece of wood, carved "WELCOME" on it with my router, screwed three 3" lag screws through a platform and now I feed them dried corn on the cob to distract them from the bird feeders. The show is pretty funny ..watching (and listening to) the squirrels yell at each other, and now I get to have the best of the birds too. I only wish I was back up north where there are more colorful birds. There MIGHT be color here, but I've not seen it yet.
Can anyone from this area tell me any tricks

Here in TN I use black sunflower seed and I mix safflower seed with it. One big bag of the black oil sunflower seed to a small bag of safflower seed. That attracts cardinels, chickadees, and bunches of others. I have not figured out how to keep the Starlings and such away. Hope this helps, I have migratory birds stop by in the fall and spring; they stay a couple days and then are gone.

Grandpa was taking care of his 11 year old granddaughter. He was having a hot cup of coffee as they were watching TV. The commentator mentioned that it was presidents day.
Grandpa asked the child "did you know that today is presidents day?"
She answered "yes grandpa."
She is so smart, so he asked her what did presidents day mean to her, thinking she would talk about Washington, or Jefferson.
She looked at grandpa and said, "Presidents day is when president Obama steps out of the White House, and if he sees his shadow on the ground, it means we are going to have 4 more years of bull shit...."

Concerned with heat and other concerns we decided to have new windows put in.

So the 1973 windows now are 2013 and very nice. This is the front window just about done.

We did replacement windows about 5 years ago and have loved them ever since. Tilt in for easy cleaning, less drafty. We don't have huricanes to worry about, just tornadows and I don't worry much anyway.

We did the same thing starting about a year and a half ago, having one room done at a time as we could afford it, the last room was finished in October, sure makes a huge difference, both for appearance and comfort. We now have an 80 year old house with double pane windows.

Now my only problem is getting the palm trees to grow. . . . . Not quite sure what keeps going wrong.

Maybe the same problem I have in TN...too cold in the winter. I had to settle for a ponytail palm that I can bring inside when it gets 50 degrees and below.

One of my favorite sayings is, "There is no such thing as a squirrel proof bird feeder".

Then I learned about the Yankee Flipper.

Be patient for showtime...I assure you it is worth the wait:

Hi kramer 96003: Great old movie clips and dance routines from some super musicals. Some of the best dancers from that era...

Any era. Their old movies were great.

I am beginning to worry about me. I recognized most of the movies and I don't think I am that old.

A young fellow at the state fair stood watching an old
Indian. Above the old Indian was a sign that read, -$5.00 - If I can't tell you where you're from, I'll pay you $50.00!"

The young man watched a cowboy approach the Indian
and ask, "Is the sign right?" The Indian says, "yes."

The cowboy hands him a five and says, "you're on!"

The Indian looks the cowboy up and down, noticing some
cow dung on his boots and flatly states, "you're from
Wyoming."

The cowboy shakes his head and says, "I'll be darned!
You're right!" and strolls away.

A second cowboy approaches the Indian and goes through
the same routine. Handing him the fiver, he stands and
watches as the Indian looks him up and down and notices
a bit of straw and cow dung on his boots.

The Indian says, "you're from Montana!"

The cowboy, dejected, walks away.

The young man decides he's going to give the Indian a run
for the money. He goes into the men's room, takes his boots off, scrubs them up, dries them off, puts on a coat of polish and approaches the Indian. He hands the Indian a five dollar bill and says, "do your stuff!"

The Indian looks and looks, up and down, and appears to be befuddled. The young man is now thinking he's gone one up on the Indian.

The Indian says, "You're from New Zealand!"

The young man gets really upset and can't for the life of him figure out how the Indian could know that, so he asks, "How in the world did you know I'm from New Zealand?"

The Indian replies, "by the wool on your zip."

As far as cats killing billions....I never saw a rat as long as I had a cat. And we never lacked for birds. Planty of Mockingbirds, never saw my cat catch one. They were too smart.

LOL... There is a huge solid white cat that comes in to my yard and tries to hide in the small flowering plants below the bird feeder.... It really must suck for this cat to have the instinct of a hunter and the camouflage of a squad car with lights lite up...

I don't understand this war on cats all of a sudden. Some guy in New Zealand, I think it is, is trying to get cats eliminated from the whole country. Cats are just too cool. They're the James Dean of the animal world.

Cats are cool. I help with an organization that captures ferell cats, spays and nuters them and then releases them so the they don't over populate. They have their place in the food chain too..
