Yes, you are sorry. Do some research on any name involving the nickname Chris (Christian, Christine, Christopher, Christina...). And then read your Bible some more: John 8:7, Romans 14:1, Acts 10:28, Exodus 14:14 and especially Matthew 7:1. And then take a serious look at Deuteronomy 18:20.

And, finally, pray with your minister / pastor / preacher, pondering why someone who uses their first name and the first letter of their last name finds it difficult to believe someone else could do the same.

I know nothing of this guy Chris T that a lot of people seem very intolerant of. It appears he has mentioned his Christian beliefs. You indicated that his beliefs are "misguided". In what way?

I believe that I have. My late daughter, Cathy, was hapa (half Asian/half Caucasian). As an elfin-faced child of about eight, she dressed for Halloween with cute, pointed ears I had made. I photographed her face in profile with lucky, perfect lighting. The result was wonderful.

Twenty years ago, Cathy died at 21, a lovely and bright young lady. I have never gotten over losing her. To my never-ending grief, somehow I lost the negative and prints of that, my best photo.

Wow..that is a bummer.

I am 74 years old and have been taking photos ever since my father bought me a "good" camera for my Bar Mitzvah. It was a Kodak Retina IIIC and I took slides using Kodachrome Film which had an ASA of 10. I still have many of these slides, which I have scanned, and the color is still good. My grandson asked me "what is a slide?". I definitely am the "family historian". Many of the older pictures have become incredibly valuable to both myself and my family. Two of my grandchildren enjoy taking pictures with me and they have the patience to take 10 or more pictures of the same object. In fact, one of them is a Sr. in High School and is editor in chief of his yearbook.

Most important, I think that photography has made me a much happier person. I see and appreciate things that other people do not see. I observe the world as a series of pictures. I absolutely love photography, cameras and photo software.

I have enjoyed this forum because the members seem to be more respectful of their fellow members than are the members of some other forums.

So by your measure painting is not an art by a larger amount. Heck you just take some pigment and slap it on a surface.

Never spoke about a painting. Only to photographs.

So Photography is not an Art?

Photography is not art. You take a picture of an object with an electronic instrument. You manipulate the electronic instrument in a variety of ways. ISO, shutter speed F-stop. Then after taking these pictures, you remove the electronic stick that contains your electronic captured pictures from your electronic instrument and then insert it in your laptop or PC perhaps a card reader. Then you upload it to LR, PS or any other number of post editing electronic programs. You manipulate this capture using a variety of sliders in your electronic post editing programs. After all the time spent doing all this manipulation of; exposure highlights shadows clarity and a wide variety of other electronic enhancements you are finished and you are now happy. You now proclaim yourself to be an artist. No, you are a photographer. Be happy.

Speak for yourself!

Of course. That was my response to someone thinking they are an artist. Do they somehow by proclaiming themselves to be artists they have a greater sense of self and worth??

That decision is not ours to make. Everyone has favorites, of course, but what was one's best; that's for history to decide, not us.

If you want to reply to me, do it privately. The admin has me blocked me from emails because on October 20, yahoo put an email from here into the spam folder. Their answer to that is to have a tantrum and block you (when this happens) from receiving emails for 10 days; kinda like in kindergarten when you were sent to the corner). Only I am still being blocked and they will not fix it; instead they keep coming back and telling me to do stupid things that don't work or exist as they claim. Multiple emails to them has me still blocked over a month later. Is this not discrimination?

You may be right. After today they and other commercial websites could be charged a fee.

I think you'll find a lot of members of the IRA would disagree with you. In fact, a quick Google search will show that there have been many more "Christian" acts of terrorism in the US than Muslim.

ARE they Christians??? The IRA was never concerned about a religious belief. They wanted a free Ireland and the elimination of the Six Counties. All under the control of a free Ireland not British Rule. . You may want to use that belief to negate that the muslim terrorists are just one of the boys. If you were to add up the body count from all muslim terror attacks here in the States and around the world I would think the muslims would be in the lead. What is the body count with ISIS these last couple of years? Do you think they will all of a sudden stop their terror activities?

Photography is an art. There are as many art styles as there are people on this earth. It's just the medium and the tools available to the artist that continues to evolve. I think that SOOC, is so so restrictive. They just let the camera engineers do their PP for them and take what they get.

Some will reference photojournalist as being pure, SOOC and non-manipulated. IMO, images by photojournalist can be highly manipulated, just in a different way. Too often, they present stories in images that are highly biased or just false. How many times have we seen a news reporter standing waist deep in water after a storm, describing the devastation all around. Only later do you see someones cellphone video on YouTube of that same reporter standing is a small puddle with cars driving by, people out walking their dogs or out doing yard work just outside the view of the reporters camera? Or the massive riot where the photographer gets down low, surrounding himself with 10 or 20 tightly grouped angry people and the editor picking the most dramatic photo to publish?. Only later you might see on YouTube just a few agitated people acting out for the camera with a few bystanders standing around watching the commotion. Even photojournalist images can are highly manipulated.

Someone on this blog said, "whatever floats you boat" is so true. For every person that dislikes your PP, there will likely be just as many that do. Just as with any other art form, you'll never please everyone and photography is just another art form. No matter what you do, there will be someone who will enjoy your work.

Just go out and have fun with your photography.

(One of my favorite episodes...)

Years ago I am taking a walk. I am walking from uptown to downtown. I'm stopped at the corner to wait for the light to change. I casually look up the block and I see this line. I walk over there to see whats up. There was this little storefront and there was the soup Nazi. He was doing a ton of business.
