Have you taken the best foto you're ever going to take in your lifetime yet?
If not, when do you think you will? Do you know when?
For example, I read all the time here that people have all these old cameras and like to go out and shoot with them.
I don't have a use for old cameras, only the best I can afford!
I haven't taken the best shot I'm going to take yet, and I'll be damned if it's gonna happen while I'm using some crappy old camera.
When I go out to shoot, I go out to take the BEST pics I can possibly get and treat each one like it's going to be my best ever!
So to that end, I always take out the best equipment I have!!
I certainly don't set out to take crappy pics with a Canon 20D or Nikon D70, just cause it is nostalgic for me and it still works!
So when you take the best pic you will get in your lifetime, what will you prefer to shoot it with??? Or have you already taken your best pic ever?!?! LoL

Nobody is going to know until the very end of their life.
I hopefully have not taken the best picture I will ever take. That would be very disappointing. I also don't have the best equipment I will ever have. It probably hasn't been designed yet.

I took some of my favorite pictures with the Instamatic 100 I had as a high school and college student - so I see limited downside to taking pictures with an old film camera.
Interesting how so many have been bitching about ChrisT, but sure enough his participation is rubbing off on other members.
But back to the topic, I may have taken my best - 3 years ago in fact. I’m basing it on the reaction that picture had received.

That doesn’t make any sense.

I have taken the best photo I have ever taken, and if I die tomorrow it will be the best I will ever take in my lifetime (not planning on using my camera tomorrow). But I suspect I will take some better pictures in the future. Is ChrisT rubbing off on you?

It makes lots of sense. If the main motivation in your life is to do better, and you know that you have already done the best you'll ever do, then suddenly all your motivation is gone.

I will take better pictures in the future---with better gear.
