I strongly suggest a full frame like the canon. 5D Mark iv, and for landscapes I suggest canon 24-70; 70-200 f4, and nature 100-400 Mark ii, get a 1.4 extender.

Shoot raw. Use a gray card inside in the same light your going to shoot in, make sure your gray card fills most or all of the frame, set custom white balance in camera to the gray card picture, shoot your shots, then in post if for any reason your not happy tweek or adjust WB some more. Outside WB is meaningless.

I use a think tank back pack. I strongly suggest you take a trip to B&H as these things are real personal, where they have many to check out and expert sales people to guide you. Too many sizes and features dependent on the gear you carry and your style and budget.

It’s good for x amount of recycled times which for most pro’s is 2 years. If not used much it will last many times longer. I. Ought all new Paul Buff over the years because used on EBay has hardly any savings.

Mine are 250 watts and barely sufficient. But mine are incandescent not LED. LED’s Are aboout 6 -7X more efficient which would make 35 watt equal to 210-245 watts in non LED. The real measure of light output is not watts but lumens. They should have a spec for this or B&H or Adorama should. The other difference is kelvin most LED bulbs will be a higher kelvin, closer to daylight. That should generally be a good thing.

I have a 5d Mark iv and 5Ds, the 5Dsr has an aligning filter that degrades the image a tiny amount, in fashion photography in may be more useful but I have not had a an issue yet with the 5Ds. My go to camera is the mark iv, they both weigh and look almost identical. For landscape, fashion, extreme detail the 5Ds or the 5Dsr are amazing. I did a large studio shoot where the client wanted to be able to see every stitch, the workmanship and fabric details. I shit identical images from my tripod with the 5Dmark IV and 5DS and the client only selected from the 5Ds. For speed the Markiv wins for detail the 5DS is amazing.

For my 5D IV and other Canon FF camera’; In Canon I have; 50 f/1.8, 85 f/1.8 16-35 f/2.8L, 24-70 f/2.8L IS II, 70-200 f/4L IS, 100 f/2.8L macro, 70-300 f/4-5.6L, 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II. In Sigma I have their 50 f/1.4 ART, and 150-600 contemporary. My most used lense and if I were you I would strongly consider the 24-70mm f/2.8 L II at about $1300 which gives you both 24mm wide angle for landscape and 70mm for portraits. I would look for a refurbished. That said for portraits I use the 100 F2.8.8 L macro its amazing and you could probably buy both within your budget if you look for used and or Canon refurbished. You will love the new Mark iv it’s amazing.

If your reach for water birds is too short at 600 mm at f6.3 a teleconverter will do you no good. A 1.4x converter will reduce the light to about f8, your autofocus will not work, your ISO will need to be set too high for good IQ or the shitter speed open too long for good IQ without blur. The sad truth is that you need a realy expensive fixed focal length lense, of as high a mm as you can afford. A 500 or 600 or 800mm. Theses work way better with teleconverters because their f stop is often between 2.8 to 4.0. and besides better optics the key is they let in more light. Borrow or rent one and you will see the difference.

I use backbutton focus on my canon 5D Mark IV. I have selected the regular front shutter button to still focus and shoot, and the back buttons to focus and the most left one shoot for still shots and the next button out to autofocus and shoot for moving shots. I also assigned that backbutton focus point to have a larger focus area than what I generally use. So in this way I have 3 different shooting methods. The camera has a third backbutton that can be assigned making this a 4 choice.

I use RRS plates on 3 of my cameras. They work fine with all of my Acratech, a Sirui, and a Desmond ball heads. No issues with compatibility.
