Love the monochromatic, mystical flavor of fog and snow.
The Naval Air Museum in Pensacola is great (about a two hour drive west of Panama City). Beautiful beaches all along the area offer good sea, sand and related photo ops. As a couple of others noted, this is definitely off-season so you'll have the run of the town and beaches.
Thanks to all for your comments.

Tire track on a slushy road
A couple of my favorite fog shots.... Ghost ships in Halifax Harbor. Great topic and thinks for opening it up for all to share
Very interesting. As a home brewer and therefore consumer of hops, this was quite interesting to see how they are harvested..... Great shots, particularly like #'s 4 & 5
You'll have a great time and can follow the mother road under a variety of alignments across all 8 states. When I say alignments, understand that Rte. 66 originated in 1926 and had upgrades/re-alignments throughout it's history. You can still drive portions of the original dirt road alignments, some small segments of (remaining) brick alignments, two-lane concrete and four-lane divided highway portions. Lots of great photo opportunities for landscape, gas stations/petrolina, post-industrial Americana and others.... You'll love it!!! I'd be happy to share some of my favored photo's with you if you wish (just don't want to bore or clutter other folks computers with unwanted photos (I have hundreds of shots from several Journeys between Chicago and Santa Monica). One suggestion, get a copy of the "EZ 66 Guide for Travels" by Jerry McClanahan. It's a "trip-tic" type guide that'll provide you with great step-by-step directions and "must see" sights however, I will say it is far easier to read/follow going East-to West rather than west to east. Also, David Wickliine's "Images of 66" will give you lots of photo's you might want to seek out.
Great road trip, spectacular scenery and wonderful shots
Nice shelf cloud. Love storms and cloud structure.
Loved all your posts. Have spent a lot of time in this area and have always been fascinated with the old mines, ghost towns and area in general
Gorgeous scenery nicely captured
Beautiful architecture, artwork and structure. Nicely captured in all your shots.
