Please post a favorite fog photo, talk about the conditions and share tips on shooting in fog.

My favorite scenes are when I'm on the edge of clearing fog and facing towards the sun. However, I have learned that if the sun is burning through rather brightly, it's best to keep it small in the frame. A large featureless white blob is not all that attractive

Here's a recent shot. View is across a river with sun on left, about an hour and a half after sunrise. Fog was thin and starting to clear, providing a translucent veil of light on the trees. In pp I used a high key filter, among other edits, to enhance the mood.

I don't get out much in the fog. But I do like your photo.

Thank you, Dennis. I forget that some areas of the country are more fog-free than others. But you have BIG sky, so that makes up for a lot, eh?!

Glad you enjoyed the trees, Geoff, and thank you so much for posting this charming image! So much to enjoy in this image, and a lot left to our imaginations as to relationships and destination.

Can you talk about any exposure or pp challenges you might have had?

Thank you for your graceful, beautiful deer images. Can you talk about any exposure challenges you may have had, and also what the pp is in #2, and what prompted your decision in going that direction?

Thank you!

This is Nevada, the driest state in the nation. We don't even know what fog is.

Funny you would post this today. It's unusual to have fog in Amarillo, Texas, but today we awoke to high humidity and fog/mist after two days of rain. I shot this at about 8:15 a.m. It's not a great photo. It's not even a good photo, but it is fog.
