I like the Canon SX50. It's small, lightweight, 50X zoom, viewfinder, tilt screen, shoots raw...I put it, batteries in a small bag and carry it everywhere. great little camera.

Ditto on the SX50. Great little camera with one heck of a focal range, 24 - 1,200mm with image stabilizer. Extra memory cards and batteries are all the extras you need. Light enough and small enough to carry around all day with no neck or shoulder strain.

I use matrix probably 90% of the time. Occasionally I’ll use spot metering in difficult lighting situations. For sunrise, sunset and dim light photos I always use center-weighted metering because of the way matrix metering under exposes the dark areas for balance.

xp is a great operating system, simple enough for us non geeks to use and interface.
I'll take it anytime over this stupid bloated window 10 anyday.
You can have your swipes, pokes, and connectivity; all i want is a keyboard and
file structure I can arrange to my desires, an operating system i can talk too.

Exactly.

Jim - I have a Nikon 8008s model that I gave me exceptional performance. Uses regular AA batteries. It was the last major film camera I used before going into digital.

I definitely agree on the Nikon 8008s. I still have and use mine. I believe it to be Nikon's best 35mm AF camera, in ways, even better than the F4 which I also have. If your 50mm 1.8 was a manual lens, I would go for the Nikon FE.

One has only to read some of the comments and posts in the Attic to learn that hate speech must indeed be protected by the First Amendment.

Unfortunately it seems as though most 'newspapers' have turned into mostly pages and pages of opinions.

I definitely agree.

That's not a comma - it's an apostrophe to indicate the possessive of the noun Britain. As several others have pointed out, if you had known who May was there would have been no confusion whatsoever. If, as you say, you try to avoid the news then I suggest not reading the Washington Post or any other newspaper since to the best of my knowledge they all seem to be full of news.

I first learned of this internment camp last year when I watched the movie 'The Magic of Ordinary Days' of which the Amache Internment Camp plays a significant role.

Very nice photos, Sam. They brought back memories of an uncle who started out as a wildcatter in the Texas oil fields.
