Very interesting. I have a spider on my back porch that looks exactly like this one. She builds her web every night and takes it down before first light.

As a grandfather, I have a special appreciation for this photograph. Nicely done.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

These shadows of the eclipse crescents were created by the light filtering through the leaves of a tree. I never expected to see this. The second is of the shadow appearing between outspread fingers. I understand the shadows created by the leaves, but not the ones between the fingers.

We had 90% in Tulsa and there was little difference in the ambient light. However, the temp dropped about 5° and the crickets started chirping. The little crescents filtering through the leaves was an unexpected plus, as was the little round shadows between your finger's shadows.

The one I'm looking at has removable glass. I haven't found any without the glass. If you know of a glassless adapter, I would appreciate the link.

I am in the same boat financially speaking. In my film camera days with Canon I had a macro lens. I now own a,Nikon d7100 and would like to do some close up work. Is it naive to consider extension tubes? One issue is portability. Or am I off base? Perhaps there are no adaptors for your lens though.

I have looked in to the plan more this week end and I find that there is an FD lens to EF mount adapter, and I've been pointed to the Canon Auto Bellows that will mount the FD lens on the front of the bellows. With the adapter on the rear, it should fit nicely on the 80D.

Thanks all for the encouragement and direction.

Thanks for sharing your experience. You've given me more ideas.

Okay, this may be an insane idea, but bear with me.
I just purchased a Canon 80D, so the treasury is a bit depleted. I would like to get back into Macro Photography at the lowest possible pain point and still be satisfied with the outcome.
My idea is to purchase a bellows with the EFS mount on the camera end of the bellows, use a Canon FD to EFS adapter on the lens end of the bellows and mount my old Canon 50mm f 1.8 lens from my old AE1 Program.
First, are there any reasons it wouldn't work? Secondly, is there a better solution?
One other option rattling around in my head is to use one of the lenses from my old Chromega enlarger, but I'm not too keen on that idea since they are designed for flat field applications.

I recently purchased a refurbished Canon 80D and I probably will never buy another "new" camera. The camera was as perfect as any new camera that I could have bought at a brick & mortar. The price was $750 for a camera that sells for $1500 at Best Buy. I'm very pleased and can't imagine that Nikon would let Canon outdo them.

I didn't mention it, but i also had cataract surgery this year. I have an arthritic back and the orthopedic doctor decided that lower lumbar injections would help. After two of those, he decided an injection directly in the hip aimed at the sciatic nerve would do the trick. After two of those, I was no better, and all the steroids in those shots accelerated my cataracts. Long story short, I'm now in physical therapy for the leg pain and I see better than I have in 25 years.

I ordered a Canon 80D from the Canon refurbished website and it is due to deliver tomorrow. I am very excited.

Having seen the eclipse in the late 70's I've decided to concentrate on the reactions of the youngsters around me that have never seen one first hand.
