Just purchased new Kensington 16Gig Flash card (highly rated by Consumer advocates) and three (3) readers WILL NOT read card. What are my alternatives other than downloading photos direct from camera into LR5.....or are there any alternates way?????
Makes me wonder why invest in a large gigabyte card?
Tried using card reader for Sony SDHC 8G card for import to Hard Drive Destination. No recognition Then hooked P&S camera up direct to MacPro to import to LR with no recognition of camera or Sony card. Am sure it must be "operator error", but this has never happened before. What am I overlooking? Thanks.
Card was unwrapped, inserted in Nikon D300 for formatting, then test shots taken before inserting in reader for export into LR5 through Mac Pro where I got absolutely no response or notification...nothing. This has been the same process I've successfully followed using ALL my other CF cards, the only difference was that this Kingston card is my first card at 16GB which could have a bearing on my entire problem.
My comment was poorly worded. Upon opening up the brand new, raw CF card, I formatted it BEFORE shooting test shots. Then I tried to export in to LR5 and could get no reading.
Mr. T....you may have hit the problem head-on with your observation about the 16G. Other cards have been tops of 8G.
Am still pursuing, but your observation seems quite relevant.
I've ended up doing that, and it was a successful download, but I like the convenience of taking out used card, putting in reader, loading up fresh CF card in camera and continuing to shoot. Can't figure out why neither of my current readers won't recognize the Kingston, but are fine with other three major CF manufacturers. Supposedly they're universal readers. Just thought maybe it was an adjustment I needed to make.
Thanks for your comeback.
Just purchased brand new, raw-non-formatted Kingston Ultimate 600X 16GB Compact Flash Card (CF/16GB-U3). Immediately formatted card on my Nikon D300, took four test shots with no problem. Upon inserting card into both of my flash card readers, no reading came up through Apple MacBook Pro to Lightroom 5.
I know both my readers work in that I have used them to export photos from SanDisk, Sony and Lexar Pro cards in the past.
Any suggestions, Hogs????
Way to go, GV....thanks for the answer to the problem. Really appreciate your input!!!! Does this same App work to receive on IPhone?
Hi, PC. Thanks for the input. After my research, resulting in my beating my head against the wall, I was beginning to think along the lines of what you cited. In other words, it ain't gonna work. Anyway, thanks for your thoughtful, knowledgable response. As you pointed out, maybe some of the "apple heads" will have an alternate plan of attack, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks again.
Recently posted slide show for a client and submitted to YouTube. Finished YouTube submission viewable on laptop or desktop, but NOT on iPad or iPhone. Client has asked that I correct so people can link up to the YouTube site and watch on any of the three digital product: computer, iPad or IPhone. I've researched and cannot find the procedure to follow to accomplish this, thereby fulfilling client request.
Help, Hogs!
Thanks.

Thank you for your response. Thankfully, I've bitten the bullet and have installed and endured the learning curve of switching to Adobe's Lightroom 5 and absolutely love the program.
In the meantime, I've obviously placed the 'master' file of photos in question somewhere other than in the intended Aperture file. currently, I'm wading through all photo files on my computer to see if I inadvertently attached the masters to another file. Outside of that, I've no idea where to go? Any further ideas or suggestions from you would be appreciated.
Thanks again for the comeback. Jim
Thanks for the comeback on my Aperture problem. I'm currently checking all photo files (in IPhoto and Aperture) to see if for some reason the Masters of the photos I looking for might have been inadvertently attached to another file. Other than that, I really don't know where to go to look. Any suggestions?
Over a year ago I used Aperture to do post production on photos for a client. They are requesting duplicates of the photos which I still have in Aperture on my MacPro, but the photos are marked with a little yellow triangle in the lower right-hand corner and when I try to export copies to client, a pop-up says that originals are not located or are "off line" and exporting isn't an option.
Is there anyway I can over-ride this and pull what I've got on my laptop to share with the client? Not sure what happened, although it appears that I've sent "original" to the client's marketing person who is no longer with the organization.
Help! Thank You.
Have used IPhoto slide program with Ken Burns effect and music. Am thinking there might be a program with better resolution and more accurate capturing of color.
Preparing slideshow on MacBook Pro and curious as to satisfaction with the Lightroom 5 slideshow program. Open to alternate suggestions Thanks!
