I was stationed and flew out of Adak in the aleutions and Elmendorf was our alternate if the frequent horrible weather at Adak prevented us from landing, even though it was over a thousand miles away! We loves Elemdorf because as an Air Force base it was much newer and better quarters than the old Navy barracks on Adak.

ADAK Alaska. 'bout 5 islands from end of the chain, not all that far from Russia...... with $.10 bottles of Schlitz. '56 - '57 era.

Installed TV station, [experienced from INSTALL of WMBV-TV, Marinette, Wi. . . 1953] Components for Adak [KDAK-TV] shipped from Dage TV Industries, Indiana. Recreation on ADAK: Shoot 2 foot to 4' long rats / 12 ga. shotguns while standing in back of pickup Chev. Next stop: em-club. Don't have any idea how many hundreds 6 of us shot....
TV station showed film of shows [2 weeks old] stateside TV. [Kodiak, Adak, Elmendorf Air Base] shared reels of tape. Hrs: 1600 hrs 'till 2200... Had one news cast that AFRTS [ARMED FORCES RADIO TELEVISION SERVICE] would teletype news to us. The staff would sit at a table while TV camera showed Navy personnel and dependents black/white TV.
plus show TV [reels of tape] Tommy - Jimmy Dorsey . . . etc. whatever was showing in U.S.A.
Next stop after ADAK..... sea of Japan. [Korea was across from Japan] Three trips a week, garbage had to be collected/dumped from USS Missouri flotilla. 2 Migs used our "barge" as a tow target. Yup.... Migs sunk it. We cut the tow cable . . . made it back to port, minus barge.

I've been 'testing' Windows 10 over four months and find it overall, very stable, fast and efficient. With that said, there have naturally been things that needed attending to, (reason for the test edition), and I have seen it improve over the months tremendously. I'm running it on an older computer and still find it efficient. Cortana, (the little lady that lives inside the computer) has had her problems but has shown a lot of improvement in recent weeks. Just like any 'lady', you have to treat her right and know how to stir her up. Then she shows her gratitude and works nicely. Overall, I give Windows 10 a thumbs-up. Of course, as with ANY new operating system, there will be bugs to be removed, even after it's official release, but it will happen. 'Free' is a pretty fair price in my opinion, especially if you're using Win 7 or older. There is no longer a Windows Media included and the new browser, "Edge" replaces Microsoft Explorer, and is MUCH improved over MSE.

My XP is ancient… since the beginning of time…. Has all up-dates etc.
Pulled the plug on Internet 14 months ago…..when a NEW Dell Insperion showed up’ XP just cruises along day after day….I have NO intention of moving my prize program — COREL-11 to Insp. Machine. No Hiccups etc. Maybe SOMEDAY when I learn to handle the Insperion efficiently, like I know the XP… I mite change things around…
Plus XP has a better window view of all wildlife romping around in Aldo Léopold Center Conservancy, romping around, day and night.

In ur’ travels with

[b]V-10[/u], You must have tried locating items using the choice on right end of [color=red]look for screen: <maintenance[color=black] —

Once by accident- I had a box pop-up with a command strings I created. I say “by accident” — ‘cause I didn’t do anything to cause it to pop-up “That I know of.”

Anyone know what the magic is?

Or IS there a link where a person can find out how to CREATE SEARCH’S FOR VER. 8.1 or 10?¿? I looked at what GEEK Squad has. Did not find anything.

I’ve found that using INSPERION trying to search for something using begin date'\. . . .end date is not as clever as XP. All U had to do was select choices, plus searching for the file name using i.e. . [[*cloth*fish*.cdr]] = looking for ((any file name containing “cloth” or “fish”)) The XP system saved it for the next time U needed it. A list of all previous searches would pop up. U clicked a choice. Next — set the date range [from month/date TO month/date] A few seconds or 3 minutes . . . . the files were listed on screen.

Have you compared the size of the files from each camera? Different cameras produce different types of raw files, so that could have something to do with it.

Be patient. In a few minutes, you'll have five pages of highly technical answers.

SX50.

The humble little SX50 never ceases to amaze me with its capabilities. These shots were hand held at maximum optical zoom (1200mm equiv.) at sundown. The boat was trawling a considerable distance off shore & was not much more than a speck in the viewfinder. Please download for a better look.

I've learned much... looking @ this site.. today somehow I started to search for boats at sea fishing "Sustainable Tuna Troll fishing" 1900's..... found what I was looking for... Worked on Albacore fish boats after discharge from Navy = SDiego = 1959.

What an experience.... lived on the end of a "sea anchor" 20 day trips, 100 to 250 miles west of SDiego... "U followed the Albacore."

1953 era I was Deckwatch on James E Ferris - straight deck... Going from Lake Michigan to Lake Superior in August... we were in line for 22 hrs. one time.... We cruised at 1/2 speed from Indiana to the locks... then made circles 'till it was OK for us to pass thru...

I got off at the boat at Su St Marie on return trip.

Better things to do than go in circles....
