I've been shooting since the mid 70's. I started with a Nikkormat EL, which my dad and I (mostly dad) had purchased for a trip to Colorado. That old EL gave many years of excellent service.
I sold the EL to purchase a new digital camera. Wish I hadn't as it was a big disappointment. An early Sony, difficult to operate and a real pain to transfer photos to the computer.
Years later I had a Motorola Rizr phone which was my reintroduction to digital photography. In 2010 after lots of research and several years of wanting a Nikon D700 I finally took the plunge and bought one along with a trio of lenses. Thus began the very steep learning curve from camera phone to a full frame DSLR.
Never really having any formal photographic training other than a few Nikon sponsored classes I’m virtually self taught. Ok, I read a lot. Post production editing software was purchased and that learning curve seemed to go
