First posting to the group...
I've been using a Black Rapid RS-7 along with a small aluminum clamp from RRS that quickly attaches to the RRS "L" plate on my D700 since 2011 as I grew very tired of the OEM Nikon neck strap. At the time it was a rather expensive set up, however the price I paid is long forgotten as it works beautifully. If faced with the same situation today I'd probably make the same decision. It's kind of like a tripod purchase, buy an inferior one several times over or a good one once.
