I cannot comment on either the 90D or the 7D-II as I have never used either. My current unit is a 5D-IV, with prior units being the ids-III, 5D (original), and 10D (eons ago!).

I have owned my Canon 5D-IV for several years now, and absolutely LOVE it. I've never had as much fun, nor learned as much, as I have with the 5D-IV.

Having said that... If I were in your shoes, I would probably delay any decision for 30-60 days. My reasoning for this suggestion: It is anticipated that Canon will announce and begin shipping the new 5R & 6R bodies in that time frame (30-60 days). When this happens, the price of the 5D-IV will likely come down a bit as attention shifts to the new & shiny models. Camera stores will want less $$$ tied up in inventory for the older models, so they will likely try to bring their inventory of 5D-IV's down by offering sales/discounts to make room for the new units. I would also anticipate the migration from 5D-IV owners to the new 5R, meaning that there would be more used 5D-IV's available for sale. More inventory in either category (new or used) generally result is lower prices and greater selection.

I also have a suggestion regarding your current 7D and lenses: Unless you are strapped for cash, I recommend keeping these items for a while. In addition to the comfort factor you have built up over the years of using your current equipment, they also might be needed as a backup unit if there is a problem with the new camera.

In my case, my 5D-IV, several lenses, and a bunch of accessories were stolen while on vacation in Las Vegas. I reported the serial numbers when reporting the break-in, and the camera & primary lens were recovered from a pawn shop approximately one week after the theft. This was GREAT news, until the prosecutor decided they needed to keep my equipment in the evidence vault for over one year for use at trial.

If I had not kept my 1ds-III, I would have been without a camera for that year. It took a little while to get used to the older unit, but it was still fully functional, (mostly) familiar, and a quick temporary solution to my need for a replacement unit. Just a thought.

(The 5D-IV is finally back, and it's been fun getting re-familiarized with it and all the options I missed!).

Good luck in your decision!

When researching a potential vendor that I have not heard of or done business with in the past, I tend to pay attention to a couple of resources.

The most obvious is a Google search, but one must be careful to "weed out" the fake review sites, etc.

For photo, camera, and electronic purchases, I rely heavily on ResellerRatings.com (and occasionally on the BBB website). In your case, I'd suggest you look at their reviews:

https://www.resellerratings.com/store/Deals_All_Year

I seem to remember purchasing something from them (Deals all year) several years ago without major issue, but cannot say so with enough certainty to recommend them. I do not know enough about the a99ii to make an informed recommendation regarding that product.

Good luck with your decision!

The photographic industry will be losing another resource, caused indirectly by the Covid pandemic.

I received an EMail from Charles Small, President/CEO of Dury's this afternoon. This well established used camera equipment and photo printing lab company in Nashville will be closing for good in the very near future.

In his announcement EMail, Mr. Small said: "After very careful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to close our doors for good. This is something that when I started working for this company in 1991 I never in a million years thought I would ever be doing. In the last eight weeks I have seen our business and lives turned upside down. I have spent countless hours working with advisers and thinking through every angle I could. I have consulted with our board of directors and accountants. Unfortunately, closure was the decision that we reached".

They are referring customers to Roberts Camera, and their UsedPhotoPro subsidiary.

Thank you for the info regarding the CIS system. I looked for one several years ago but couldn't find anyone who was enthusiastic about options available.

The cartridges I use work well, but I'd prefer to avoid refilling them if I can do so reasonably. Your message gives me research material!

Thank yoU!

I've used Precision Color ink for the past three or four years and have always been thrilled with the outcome. I've never had any problems with clogged nozzles, mismatched colors, etc.

When contemplating making the switch to Precision Colors, I did a fair amount of research and found that they had a solid following of happy clients. My math might be a bit off, but I believe the per-cartridge cost of a refilled cartridge works out to be 1/20 or less of a new cartridge.

I've suggested the switch to numerous friends and associates who have the Pro-100, as well as those looking for an affordable "larger format" printer (ie: 13x19). I've never heard any negative comments from any of them as well.

The Pro-100 also prints 13x19 inch. I have owned my Pro-100 for several years now, and it is quite the workhorse. I purchased a backup unit two years ago when they were virtually giving them away via rebate, but haven't found the need to replace my original unit.

I will agree that it isn't the fastest printer on the planet, the quality is worth the wait. I mitigate the operating costs by refilling cartridges using Precision Color inks and have experienced no problems. (Well, other than colorful finger tips after the reloads, but that is probably more my fault than the cartridges!).
