Good Morning Millie,
A fellow photographer and friend told me about where she gets prints of her images done. She has sold several of them to the general public. I tried them out and they are simply fantastic, in my opinion of course. Their shipping fee is a flat $7 regardless of the number of prints I order at one time, and I usually get my order, after shipping, in 2 days, and I live in southeastern OhioTh. If your order exceeds $50, shipping is free; so if you know you will want several prints, wait (if you can) until you surpass the $50 limit and no shipping charge will be assessed. It does not take more than a couple days, usually, for them to process your order. They use USPS express mail and their prints and canvas wraps are extremely well shipped in a card board box and then wrapped inside the box as well. Prints are shipped flat and not rolled. If you purchase a larger print, say in the 16 x 20" range or larger, you simply just request it to be shipped flat and they will do so with no extra charge (I believe). They also use quality heavy professional photo paper. They also have several great sales throughout the year with big discounts. They are very Professional and aim to please. You ask, "who are they?" It is http://www.nationsphotolab.com in Maryland.
I have ordered canvas prints and they put a protective coating on the canvas so you can wipe off dust, and protects against moisture on the canvas as long as it doesn't get drenched with water (common sense moisture exposure). They are very nicely done. You can get luster prints (regular or canvas) with color correction (just a little more cost (around 50-75 cents) for the color correction, but I do recommend it) that are very nice. They look nice when you get them, but behind glass in a frame, they are beautiful!
Their ordering software is a little tricky at first to use, but they are most willing to help if you place a toll free call. If no one is available, they will call you back usually within a day or less. I have spoken to one gal there who was exteremely informative, excellent in her teachings of their ROES Professional ordering software, and very, very nice. I used to use Shutterfly, but Nations Photo Lab is many times better and their actual wrapping and shipping is far superior to Shutterfly (who rolls prints larger than 5x7's) if I remember correctly.
I have never used Costco since there aren't any around where I live, but Nations is superb in all respects including price! Go to their site and scout around a bit and see what you think. They offer all kinds of prints and products as well.
Millie, if you have any questions, feel free to PM (Private Message) me and I will try to answer what I can for you. Good luck, and I highly recommend you give them a try. :)
Best Regards,
Tom
