Hi,
You can great shots off of the Brooklyn Bridge and also from the Dumbo area. For nice sunset shots of the Statue Of Liberty go to Redhook. There are piers with shops that give good views. Be careful on the trains. I've heard from many people that they are DANGEROUS!!! And I'm a person who rode the subway from when I was 7 years old and through the bad days of the 70's at all hours of the night. Good Luck and have a safe trip.

Bigger is better for wildlife .I usually shoot landscapes .I'm good from 18 to 300 with the two lenses I have. But the Nikon vr lenses are HEAVY,especially my 10/20.

Last year I carried my 10/20 nikon lens on an autumn trip through New England. It is a heavy lens and I never took it out of the bag.

I purchased a D 610 for an up coming trip to New England last fall. I also have a D70 AND A D40 for many years . I also gave up on my Lumix Mirrorless for a full frame camera. I was very happy with the results I got shooting over 500 pics over 8 days in the Northeast. The detail captured by this camera is far greater than my other cameras. My only word of caution is the weight of the camera. A bit heavy compared to the others but then I used to lug around a Nikon F2 back in the day.
Also I shot most of my photos on aperture priority.
If it had an articulated viewfinder it would be perfect.

I had been trying to get to the Kankamangas Highway for about 25 years. I love the Autumn Season for photography. This year I finally got there in peak season. It was spectacular except for the hundreds of people with selfie sticks talking pics of themselves in all of the best places. Of themselves and not of the foliage?? Well my wife and I decided to just travel the back roads of New Hampshire and Maine for the remainder of or vacation. It was fantastic and I could have spent three weeks just exploring remote areas and roads less traveled. I recommend this for any one wanting to capture beautiful sights and possibly being pleasantly surprised.

Hi,

I purchased a 610 about 4 months ago. I did a tour of New Hampshire and Maine for about eight days shooting over 550 photos, mostly on AP. I could not be happier with the camera and the 28/300 lens. Except for the weight.......
The Nikon Store site now has a sale on the 610 +a 50mm for less than I paid to my 610 body. If the weight is not a problem for you get one.

I hope this helps you,
Joe P.
