On Nikon website and also on B&H they have for sale a Nikon D610 with a 50 1.8 lens, a MB-14 battery pack and also a wireless adapter. Is this a decent FF camera all for $895 I'm looking to change from a mirrorless camera. Not happy with my Fuji xt1 electronic viewfinder.I can do a trade in with B&H for $375. My original FF D700 went swimmimg with the fish and replaced it with a Fuji.

Thanks in advance

I have a D610. It's a great camera.
You will always grieve the loss of the D700. The D600 will take great pictures, but is not as solid a camera as the D700. Aside from the mega pics on my D810, was high on my list to replace my aging D300. Can't help you with the comparative value of your Fuji on the trade,.
I paid a lot more when I got mine and it was body only. That is a good price for new... I love mine...

I’m glad I’m not the only one who has issues like that.

Just remember that the D610 is a small form factor camera. That might not be an issue for you, but I tried one as my first full frame camera. It lasted about a week before being traded in toward a D810.

My camera for over ten years was a Pentax "Super Program", an SLR smaller than any DSLR I know of. I was taught to take pictures with my right hand supporting the body and my left hand supporting the lens. In those days, that was necessary to focus the lens, but today the same manner allows me to use digital cameras nearly as "small" even with a "long" lens.

Understood. But the OP indicates that his original camera was a D700, which is a full-size SLR. My guess is that it had been in service for quite a long time. For at least some of us, moving from a full size body to a small body, whether a D610 or our wife's D40x, can be quite problematic. Full awareness of the difference might just be of importance here.

You learned to hold the camera the way it was designed to be held - not everyone is capable of that kind of thinking.

I found it to be at least as much an issue of accessing controls (knobs and buttons) as holding the camera, although there wasn't nearly enough space for the fingers of my right hand when shooting. There are probably a ton of folks for whom this is not an issue, but it was a big one for me.

I don’t know whether your hands are too large or whether the D610 is poorly designed. My KP is designed in such a way that I can change all three legs of the “exposure triangle” without removing it from my eye.
I traded a nearly-new D500 and four DX kit lenses in for the D610 package, and don't regret it for a nano-second. It's a great second camera to my D750, and the MB-D14 is just a gift, extending the shooting time. I already have several AF 50mm lenses, so this one will do as a pocket carry around lens.
I wasn't expecting a D810, etc., but I didn't pay D810 prices for what will be a back-up body.

Absolutely! I have had a D600 for over a year and love it. Go for it.
