My understanding is that the microdrives had a standard CF2 interface. Should work in standard reader. Don't use your PCMCIA adapter, just plug the microdrive into a CF reader.

Have you considered FB Marketplace or Craigslist? Pretty high likelihood of finding a decent camera without spending a lot.

I've been using since is was Jasc PSP 4.0 in the mid/late 90s. Has been great. Easy to learn, no subscription fees (I typically upgrade every other version, but the AI added in 2021 Ultimate, coupled with a good deal, got me to upgrade again this year. I've used Photoshop in the past and find PSP easier to use. I've never had issue with a tool not being available, just that I didn't know how to use it yet. Tutorials abound on YouTube and the built in help/training tools are pretty comprehensive. Try the free trial version. The Ultimate package includes a number of other apps that make purchase price worth it, IMO. They also provide freebies every week (scripts, plugins, etc) and webinars every few weeks. Like any other app, it's a tool, and will only be as beneficial as the effort you put into learning how to use it.

I use HeroClips. Different color for different camera (similar to you- several similar bags with different cameras in them). The HeroClip serves additional functions, most frequently suspending/hanging pack under tripod, so I don't need to worry about extra weight for stabilizing. Comes in handy for hanging pack from a branch, fence, etc so as to not have to lay it in adverse ground conditions.

In 15 years, I've never bought new and have had only 1 problem with 1 lens, and that developed after usiung the lens for 5 or 6 years. I have always physically inspected and tested each camera and lens over the years. I've not bought everything I've looked at, but have bought most. Be careful. If the seller gives you a "bad vibe" or otherwise makes sketchy comments, or if the item is priced "too good to be true", then it's in your best interest to walk away. You may have stumbled onto a gem, but it's unlikely. Best thing you can do is to become familiar with what problems various items have and make sure you check for them. Hair/dust/fungus/etc inside lenses, full (or less than) functioning cameras (bring a couple lenses to test function and IQ), loose connectors, etc should all influence your willing to purchase and/or the negotiated price.

I've got one of each, body and back lens, caps. They're yours for $6 to cover postage and padded mailer. Free if you want to pick up in (or possibly near) Longmont, CO.

Just flew in and out of Denver and LAX over the holiday. No problems with 2 bodies and several lenses and capped batteries. I did have to pack tight to get bag small enough to fit under the seat. Got flagged for brownies in my other carry-on, but not for cameras and other electronics.

Great read, thanks. I knew distance made a difference, but not to the extent presented (and well explained) here.
