I love how you make ordinary look extraordinary! Another fine example! Thanks!
Thanks all! I know there are several copies available via e-bay, abe books & others. I love Vol 1, but maybe not enough to pay $100-ish for Vol 3! I'll keep looking.
Cheers! Jan
Has anyone tried extension tubes with a zoom lens?
My extension tubes work perfectly with my Sony 50mm f1.8 prime but I cannot get any focus with my Sony 24-105mm f4 zoom.
Am I doing something wrong? Asking because the OP references for use with a zoom lens.
Thanks par4! Unfortunately this is Volume 2, 3rd edition - it covers Arizona. I can find the Arizona & California versions of the book, just not the Colorado/New Mexico Volume 3. :(. I doublechecked Summit to make sure they didn't have it either...
Still no joy, if anyone has a copy of Photographing the Southwest, Volume 3, Colorado & New Mexico that they want to sell, please let me know!
Cheers! Jan
Thanks Jeff! I know, I downloaded the sample of the kindle version... but I really would like a paper version - easier to reference & carry around ... I guess I'm "old school". :).
I am looking for a copy of Photographing the Southwest, Volume 3, Colorado & New Mexico by Laurent Martres. Apparently it is out of print. I have Volume 1 and found it very handy for finding photographic spots in Utah. Now we're going to Colorado - hopefully in October and I would love to have the equivalent book covering Colorado.
Anyone have a copy that they're not using & would like to sell?
Cheers! Jan
My 2013 MacBook Air just died ... it was a 4 GB/256 version that Apple tells me cannot be used in conjunction with Lightroom. I was using an external hard drive for Lightroom. New specs from Apple for Lightroom seem to be 16 GB for Lightroom & Photoshop. You can get a MacBook Air with 16 GB but it's a special order. My new MacBook Pro is the same weight and size (well, the Air was 3.0 lbs and the Pro is 3.1 lbs) with considerable more ram and storage. I'm still using the same external hard drive for LR.
NOTE: The new Apple Airs/Pros DO NOT HAVE NORMAL USB PORTS - OR SD CARD SLOTS! This caused me a bit of consternation but you can buy adapters. I have an adapter that has a USB to thunderbolt as well as an SD to thunderbolt. Both are working well so far.
I've not tried the IPad for travel, although it would be a major weight savings!
I have a set of Meike extension tubes that fit perfectly, no issues at all -- other than the learning curve to actually use them. It seems yours might not have passed quality control ... if there is any! I guess I'm lucky.
Roberts Camera (robertscamera.com) has a Canon 77D new for $549 after $250 instant rebate? I have no idea if this is a good price, but I usually use Roberts and their associated used site, usedphotopro.com. The used site doesn't have one right now...
I love the playfulness of the bobcat and the captures documenting it! Thanks for sharing these amazing photos.
Thanks all! The nest is on a branch directly over my head as I balanced on the balance strap. I first noticed it because mama was hovering directly above me making her distinctive whirring noise. Can’t figure out what enticed her to build a nest in such a busy spot. Grandkids play on the balance strap (strung between 2 trees) constantly!
Our backyard baby ruby-throated hummingbird. I learned that male ruby-throated hummingbirds don't develop their signature red neck until around a year old, before that they're incognito with white the same as the females.
Traditionally I'm not a fan of ICM photography, but these images are breathtaking! I am a big fan of Monet and the impressionists and these remind me of impressionism translated into photography. I may need to try again. THANKS for sharing!
