For myself, I miss the darkroom process. In my opinion the digital age has taken the art out of photography. We can take any lousy image and using a computer it can be enhanced and manipulated to no end. Gone are days of checking light readings, f/stop settings, composing before shooting, checking for depth of field, etc. etc etc

I just returned a Magnasonic because it refused to scan after about a week. I'll be replacing it with the Kodak Slide 'n Scan soon. It seems to be the best reviewed on Amazon.

One other problem with the Magnasonic was that it wouldn't save the scans to the SD card. It would hold it in the internal memory for a bit so I had to transfer each scan right after I made it...annoying.

I use a Wolverine F2D Saturn. Works well for slides, negs including 120mm

Thanks to all for the responses. My problem is I'm just an old fart not saavy with photoshop, paintshop etc etc Gotta talk to my kids and grandkids for help. I was hoping to come across some software, preferably free, that would add this to my work. Thanks again

I have been a member of this group for several years but have never posted. Figured why not now. These photos were taken at night under available light.

The camera was purchased at a yard sale for very cheap. Owner knew nothing about it. Looks almost brand new so for $10 it would have been a great starter for my granddaughter. I can manually move the mirror down but it immediately pops back up. Did not have a battery when I bought it but some you win and some you lose!
Thanks all for your response
