Liberty state park in NJ. You can get the back of the Statue of Liberty in the photo if you want.
Also the teardrop memorial in Jersey City, NJ - the container ship port across from the teardrop memorial works great too.

Thank you all for the suggestions - it gives me some things to ask about and look for. I'm going to the B&H expo next week - so hopefully there will be some good buys.

My printer recently went to printer heaven - may it RIP.
I'm looking for a new printer that I'd be able to print my own 11X14 prints and that the print cartridges aren't outrageously priced.
Any recommendations would be helpful. Some questions I have looking at the large variety available are :
`laser or inkjet
`minimum dpi
`brand
` cartridges or tank ink
` print speed
` quality vs quantity
` best place to purchase
` wifi ? or cable hook up
`compatible with both Mac and windows
Any helpful recommendations or your experience with specific printers would help me make an intelligent decision. I'm not looking for a cheap printer, but something that will make nice enlargements and not cost a fortune to run.

I'm doing a presentation for junior high children on Composition, and want to start with the question, " what the difference between a picture vs a photograph?" My answer is a picture is a memory you take for memories sake, a photograph is a memory you take after planning it out and carefully choosing how, when , why , where and who.
I know you hogs probably can give me a better description and that sometimes a picture becomes a lucky photograph. Any positive help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

If I was going to leave Nikon - I would go with the new Olympus just for one feature. When you night long exposure shoot - you can set it that only added light gets added to the image. I think this is an awesome feature to have.
Having never shot Canon - I don't know much about them.

I recently took that trip and my Tamron 18-400 worked well for me. The extra length of the 400 end allowed me to pick and choose some tight shots and the 18 for those wide open spaces. If you can go to antelope canyon - it's a great place. Go up the mountain near the airport in Sedona for great sunset clicks. Enjoy your trip and that beautiful country.

That's fantastic. You have a guardian angel looking after every photo you take with that camera.
