Great perspectives and wonderfully thin DOF! You might consider saving to the sRGB colorspace for the output JPEGs. The colors in the posted files will be more exact to what you've created in PS.

I learned something new.Thanks.

Getting snarky doesn't make you right. Neither does doubling down. The professional approach would be to admit the faux pax, thank the person for pointing out the error, and moving on.

For the longest time people were absolutely convinced that the earth was the center of the universe, and all the celestial bodies rotated around it.

Others believed the earth was flat. Some still do.

We know how that worked out for them.

So it you still want to risk your credibility and continue to believe and promote a DoF myth that has long been debunked, just because it may have been widely used at some point, but with no factual support, I'm not going to stand in your way.

On the other hand, you are welcome to prove your point and convince me otherwise. I promise to keep an open mind and keep the snarkiness to a minimum.

Nice pictures. I love to fish. About 25 years ago I bought a split bamboo fly rod from Orvis. I have surf fished on the the Cape with a older 12 foot rod. Unlike a camera an old fishing rod/reel is not a bad thing. Any way if one my children now grandchildren were to get that close to me when we were fishing....they would get wet. Way to close. You get your lines tangled up.

The longer you read UHH, the more expensive it gets.

If you can freely spend money on camera equipment, like what seems like the majority of the UHH community, then the Nikon Z50 with an adapter to your DSLR lenses will maintain your existing lenses.

But seriously: your D3300 is a fully professional-capable digital camera with the current industry-standard 24MP sensor. A Z50 is a $850 purchase, body only, that actually steps down in resolution to 21MP.

Is another $850 the cost of making you happy with your camera? Will it make you a better photographer? Only you can decide.

Sound advise. I think your statement reflects the same every day responders. Perhaps not the whole "community"

Either one will work. In other words I don't want any sugar coating. If these images are not up to the standard of what the Nikon lens is capable of I want to know that. I'm not going to beat myself up for not buying the Nikon lens in the first place.

I've been away and mostly inactive for the past several months restoring my 1965 396 425HP Corvette to original condition. It took much longer than I had expected and was significantly more difficult than I had anticipated.I began in early Feb.2020 and just got it completed this past Monday.I don't anticipate ever getting involved in a project like this anytime soon.It really cut into my photography time.

Great job. Time well spent. I would not worry about loss of camera time. Early on in our marriage and before we had children we had an Austin Healey 3000. Loved that car. Enjoy your Vette.

Do you need the zoom range? Do you need a full-frame camera? Should you be considering bigger changes than just a lens?

Quite right. The newer cell phone have made great strides.

$775 for camera repair on a camera I just bought (used). That hurts! And my local fix-it shop can't even quote on the repairs because with Canon's website down they can't get part quoted. Even Canon stated there might be an issue ordering parts because of the website. However, the guy I talked to said it was up yesterday, then down again today.

I know, I know, when I get it back, it will be a brand new camera. I just feel like I'm hemorrhaging dollars here!

This is Canon's quote to replace main circuit board in my 1DX.
