Having read all the replies there seems to be only a few a few ponts of view ( and they are loosely connected) to the question. However, consider this: With all the trash and garbage that scientists claim will take forever to break down and the massive amount of McDonald's consumption neither point of view is relevant . Aliens landing here could very will determine that Ronald McDonald was some kind of deity.
Yes, I feel the same way. I once scrolled down the main page and found interesting reading. Now I must scroll through mindless postings on subjects that contain no relevance Before I close just allow me to ask: Please bring back the old standard. Remember, if it's not broke don't fix it. Thank you for your time.
I did a camera swap with then a few years ago. While I attempted to find out all that was needed to asure gettig my "quote" and the right camera in return everything went to pieces on the deal to shorten the story let's just say I did not receive the $ credit for my trade in. I had to pay more on my end. Total, spent 3 weeks arguing only to loose. Have not done business with them since.
Sorry for the late reply. Currently I have a DH-200 QC-280 power amp and the DH- 110 pre amp. Both have been refurbished by people who specialize in Hafler designed electronics. I am very pleased with them. I use then to drive a set of Vandersteen 2Ce speakers. This system sounds better than my first set of separates: Mitsubishi DA-A10 power amp and DP- A20 pre amp used to drive a set of Time Windows. Both systems reside in different parts of the house otherwise overkill would be a problem.
To all who replied thank you for the useful suggestions. I apologize for the late reply. To answer questions you posted: Currently I have no pre recorded tapes and no vinyl collection. The purpose of the R2R is to provide continuous music for social functions. As for the vinyl collection...that will begin with the acquisition of the TT. reviewing turn tables had been an adventure. At first I thought of purchasing am vintage table and having it refurbished. The more thought I gave that idea the worse it began to seem. So I have been looking at new tables. To date the front runner appears to be the VPI Cliffwood. A little pricey and the entry level of their table line but still ahead of current tables upper lines. As for vinyl cleaning systems for me the jurry is still out. No single system seems to have the qualities I am searching for. In closing today, allow me to ask, what audio eguipement are you driving at the present time? Talk later, Analogman
Gentlemen, the results are in and the turn table has won. The acquisition of a turn table will lead me down a perilous journey for which I have no idea of it's completion. Should any you care to share in the journey of just talk about audio systems feel free to contact me at: dlender2@aol.COM. Your input has been gratefully acceoted.
Good day,analogman
Foer years I have read numerous opinions concerning camera gear and how to us them. Very seldom has a single group completely agreed on anything. Some have knocked on one another for poor discussion making while a few have been accused of being smarty pants. So, by taking you out of your comfort zones I have a new subject not related to photography. I am a collector of cameras, mechanical cameras but I also collect stereo equipment. Now to finish off a system I have painstakingly just completed I would appreciate your input. Should I put a near mint Revox B77 reel to reel tape deck to the system or about face and add a quality turn table to the system? Already in place are an amp, preamp and tunner designed by David Hafler and A CD player by Rotel. This will complete my 4th system in my audiophile collection What say you, Hogs of the Leafed Shutter?
I honestly do noy believe that Canon is better than Sony!
After the disaster of Win 10 I am firmly off Microsoft apps! I ran XP till I could not go any where and that is a shame for it was much better than Win 10. Now I am attempting to learn the "ins and outs" of the Linux boys. They have a helpful web page that shames Microsoft. For doing XP in nothing would please me more than to see gates and his empire be broken up by Uncle Sam.
To all of you who replied with polite useful answers, Thank You!. I am carefully considering all that you have given me. I am turning in my Nikon gear because my health is failing me rather quickly and I tire of lugging all my gear around. Learning to do more with less has been a huge challenge that I preferer to for go. Thank you again for your time. Analogman
I totally agree with jradose. CHG_CANON has stepped over the line far to many times in an arena where teaching and sharing is supposed to be the objective. Why he chooses to "knock" on people he finds inferior I don't care to know. I just wish would go away and no longer darken our site anymore.
Windows 10 frustrated me so badly I changed everything over to UNIX / Linux system and have not looked back. Sure it is rather difficult to make the change but once I did the frustrations went away. For me Windows 10 is JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have cell phone and I hate it! I have been known to through them in the river near my home. And the cameras in them? JUNK! Get the picture?
Like yourself I too collect old cameras. Currently I have about 200 in my collection, the Bolsey B2 is in there. I would like to collect more but $$$$$ restricts what I am able to buy. If anyone reading this has suggestions on old and unusual cameras to hunt down and purchase please share your thoughts @ dll5791@gmail.com. Thank you.
