This is Jessica the hippo that was found after a flood in South Africa .She was raised on a bottle . She is 17 years old a stays around the mans house that raised her . About 3:00 pm she comes to the dock for hand feed corn and her afternoon tea . She has a mattress to sleep on and if it is a cold night he covers her with a blanket . Well worth the time to see if you are in Limpopo Provence S.A.

Yes I think he was in the rocks along side of the pan . I picked the pan up and cleaned it out probably dumped water on him . The temp was in the low 60s He was moving very slow .

A Gardner snake sitting in the flowers was there for several hours . The next a rattler in for a drink . What a wake up I had , just filled the pan with water for the birds stepped away to water some flowers when my dog started barking . Looking around to see what she saw and there was this sweet surprise . Good thing it was a cool morning so he was not moving very fast .

Spent 10 days in South Africa last year . It is a great place to visit . Kruger park is really something to see . Since you are going to the North entrance of the park you should work it out to see Jessica the Hippo . Never felt unsafe . Have a great time , I can't wait till I can get back
