A girl in my photo club has one. She knows its limits and works around them. She uses Gimp to process her images and I must say, what she does with the camera is quite impressive.
Steel plate in my wrist or on the camera? You’ve been living in your mind for far too long. Once again, you totally missed the point of my original post. End of reply. I suggest you do the same.
Because of the way my wrist healed I am unable to use my DSLR except when it is mounted on a tripod. Beside the fact that it is too heavy to use one handed. As a result of the broken wrist I have developed an uncontrollable tremor in my left hand. That’s why the comment.
After recovering from a badly broken left wrist (6 places) I have found that I can no longer use my left hand with my cameras. Besides the fact that I have decided to simplify my photography gear (a DSLR and a mirrorless plus 7 lenses, two gear bags, three tripods, etc.).
So I have sold/traded in all of my gear for a simple but powerful Ricoh GR III. Built in IBIS, ND filter, fixed lens with built in lens cover, live histogram, focus peaking and electronic level, and best of all, designed for one handed shooting.
Does UHH frown on Ricoh owners? Just wondering because I don’t think I have ever seen a Ricoh post.
Nikon D5500, kit 18-55mm, 4 frames stitched in LrC, exported as jpg, ISO 800. No post except export. C&C please! Brown Tract Campground, Adirondack State Park, August 2022.
Would it help you guys to know that this was shot while in a car with the window down, waiting for a stop light to change? Your above suggestions are good, but in this case, totally impractical.
Taken using my new to me Nikon D5500. AFS Nikkor 18-55mm VRII, f9, 1/320s, ISO 125, -0.3EV No post.

I have 3 lenses for my D7000. But the one that is more or less always mounted is the standard kit 18-55 mm. I’ve done time lapse, panorama, wildlife, landscape, and Astro photography. For candids , I find it ideal. For quick shots the variable zoom works wonderfully. IMHO.
Personally, I’m trying to wean myself off all Adobe products. They’re resource hogs. I have the Photographer Bundle of Lightroom and Photoshop. I’ve been using Lightroom for quite a few years and have never bothered with Photoshop. Besides, it is subscription based and even though it is relatively inexpensive at $10.79 a month, that really adds up. I’d much rather pay a one-time fee, e.g., Luminar.
AI is a separate program. You get a discount if you own Luminar.
Yes to all of the above. No problem updating.
Hate to hijack thread but does anyone know when Luminar AI will be released? I pre-ordered but am curious when it will be available for download.
First time I tried using shutter priority because I knew these guys were moving really fast over the lake and I had only one chance for this. Specs:Nikon D7000 with Tamron 70-210mm, f/13. 1/1600 sec, ISO 800, shot at 135mm, no exp bias. Used highlight slider in Luminar 4 only and exported as JPEG.

I'm bored, so I'll reply too. I have a Nikon D7000 that I bought used (basically my workhorse with the 18-55, 35 1.8, and a Tokina 70-200 I bought here on UHH from a fellow member) and a Nikon 1 J5 that I also bought used (10-30 PD workhorse, 10 pancake, 10-30 that accepts filters, and the 30-110), All systems bought online from mpb.com. Examples of both systems can be found on this site by searching my name.
Mark Denney is my all-time favorite photographer on yt.
