I had the same issue, the problem was that I had the credit reports locked and needed to unlock them for the approval process. While I was on the phone with them, I unlocked the specified credit bureau, they ran the check and approved me for the card. Easy, peasy.

For a technical description of diffraction and where it can become limiting, here is website that describes diffraction and provides a tool (calculator) where you can input your camera sensor size and resolution to see where diffraction limiting occurs. Use the "Advanced" tool to input our camera specifics.

https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/diffraction-photography.htm#calculator

I am not saying one way or the other as to whether you should or should not avoid diffraction limiting, just using this as a tool allows you to know where it will begin to affect your base images (before sharpening, etc.).

To answer part of the OP's question as to why lenses allow you to use small apertures, where diffraction limiting occurs is dependent on sensor size and resolution. One size does not fit all.

Interesting story about using a UPS. While I was living in Georgia, our area was prone to power outages during bad weather. I set up the den with the TV and a lamp on a UPS. One night I got a call from my neighbor asking why the power was on only at our house. She told me it was out in the rest of the neighborhood. I looked around and found the power was out in the rest of our house and explained about the UPS. She thought it was strange that we had power when no one else did, sort of like the Twilight Zone episode the monsters on Maple Street.

And as military personnel are wont to do they come up with topical lyrics for the times, hence:

"Charlie and the RVA"

Let me tell you a story 'bout a Cong named Charlie
Who on one tragic and fateful day
Kissed his wife and family
Put ten rounds in his pocket
Went zap at the RVA

But did he ever return
No, he never returned
And his fate is still unlearned
He may run forever
Through the trackless jungle
He's the Cong who never returned

And a favorite Christmas carol

Jingle bells
Mortar shells
VC in the grass
Take your Merry Christmas
And shove it up your a$$

I have one. It works well when I remember to set it up. We travel fulltime in an RV and I use it to record local OTA network TV broadcasts. This is especially useful when I do not want to go through the hassle of changing my DirecTV receiver location or have adequate streaming Internet bandwidth. It requires a Firestick and then you can watch and record live OTA TV programs from within the firestick menu.

OK, I changed my mind. Here is what I come up with:

2 shoes = 10 therefore 1 shoe =5
Boy = 5
2 bouquets = 4 therefore 1 bouquet = 2

Final formula is:

1 shoe + (boy holding 2 bouquets and wearing 2 shoes) X 1 bouquet which would numerically be 5 + (5+4+10) X 2 or 5+19X2. Using the MDAS method of solving that would then be 5+38=43 (final answer).

WOW! Five flat tops and a 30 year career. Commendable! Any time for a shore duty break between carriers?

"B" school between first and second, Instructor duty between 2nd and third, decommissioned Oriskany then sent to Kitty Hawk in yards for a year (not really shore duty).

Actually, 4 of those were in the first 10 years. I got out with 10 yrs 1 mo 21 dys (but who counted) and went into the Reserves. I was recalled to active duty for Desert Storm in 1991 and deployed to USS Midway for the duration. So yes, I am both a Vietnam ( USS Coral Sea) and Gulf War I (USS Midway) veteran, not too many of us.

What it sounds like is what video cameras use to obtain the equivalent of a wide angle view. I have seen .5 adapters that screw onto the front of a lens and increases the field of view. Sort of the opposite of a telephoto adapter.
