Some of our orchids are blooming and I want to share them with fellow Hogs. All shots were taken using my Nikon P900. The first two were taken at f/8 using daylight flood lighting. The third was taken using auto flash.

Great capture, both for you and the bird.

Nice shot. God's handiwork never ceases to amaze me.

Nice images. I like the night shots the best.

My response was to the original post and anyone else that is bored by sunset shots. I have taken hundreds of sunset shots and the only boring ones are my failed attempts to capture the green flash.

I've only been there once. About 10 years ago we took our grandson on the Durango-Silverton RR ride and to Mesa Verde. Your images make me want to go back.

Great action shots of the whales breaching. I've been on whale watching voyages off Alaska and in the Hawaiian Islands but haven't seen them breach like that.

That is the case for cloudless skies and nothing else in the image, unless you can catch the green flash which has eluded me to date. But for images which include cloud formations, landscapes, and silhouettes there are endless possibilities.

Very nice image Jim. You captured it from a better angle than I did when I was there 10 years ago.

I prefer B&W images when I want to exhibit details and not be distracted by the color. If you want to emphasize the church in this image, B&W works. Otherwise I prefer the color image.
