A photograph is what the picture captures when either the film or sensor is exposed to light. Converting that negative to a picture does not change it from a photo, it still is as it is a representation of what the camera captured. With a digital camera it is the same. If the photo is edited by the user in camera using the cameras computer editing program it is no longer a photo but a manufactured image created by editor.
I'm sorry but it does in-fact. The first line "digital photographs are created with digital cameras"
Cameras!
one more, this is from Collins dictionary: A photograph is a picture made using a camera.
I think its pretty obvious based on every definition out there (including the one you provided) that an image created by anything other that a camera, specifically the processing of light into an image, cannot BY DEFINITION be called a photo...
"a picture or likeness obtained by photography"
This is the definition from Merriam-webster.com The key here is "obtained by photography" not computer editing.
Just out of curiosity what definitions did you read? I actually cant find one that doesn't say that a photo can be created by a computer or anything other than a camera.
NOUN
a picture made using a camera, in which an image is focused onto film or other light-sensitive material and then made visible and permanent by chemical treatment, or stored digitally.
This is the definition from dictionary.com It specifically says a "picture made using a camera". Not a computer...
Correct the vast majority of the best "photos" ever are not photos. Once again they are manufactured images. I'm sorry that we disagree but I think that it is ridiculous that we are still calling them photos when, by definition, they are not.
Personally I hate any sort of photo manipulation. Adding vignette for mood or adjusting tones (ever so slightly) I don't mind. But adding or removing ANYTHING to or from a photo in my opinion is completely unacceptable. Call me a purest but don't think that a photo with ANY post editing should be called a photo. I believe the proper term should be something like manufactured image and that a true "photo competition" should only accept SOOC photos.
They could start having manufactured image competitions but I think that would (rightfully so) take away from the allure which would increase the allure of true SOOC competitions. (my opinion)

This will change too.
How is political correctness making America fail?
Example?
And this is on a photography forum because?...
Maybe try a medium sized cooler with wheels and a handle. You could line the interior with some padding and make cubbies if you'd like. When the cooler is closed you can sit on it! Sounds perfect and a fun project!
Consider a Tamron or Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 for about 2/3 the price. I have the sigma contemporary and love it. No problem in the woods with aperture. The AF, I'm sure, is not as smooth as the Nikon but when I'm in the woods I use back button focusing with single point AF or 9 point AF and its great. I haven't had any issues with If you are just a hobbyist (as I am) then it should be enough for sure.
Some people prefer the D7200 to the D7500 because of the price and the 24mp Sensor. You might be able to hold off to see if a new model comes out soon and the price drops again. I believe the lenses for your camera are compatible with the D7200 so getting lenses for your current camera isn't a bad idea. The sigma 150-600 contemporary is well worth the price and you would really only need the sport if you were trying to capture fast moving objects at extreme distances or need the full weather sealing. But it is more of a luxury lens and is moderately bulky.
Lighthouses are nice. Great shots, it would be cool to see them from the exact same position and perspective.
