I am using an Olympus E-M1 II and will be recording travel/cruise events and tours. Trying to pick-up audio from tour guides and shows at amusement parks. I was looking at the VideoMic GO, but read a number of bad reviews.
I know this is a photography forum but hope some of you do video with all these snazzy new cameras. My question for those of you that do video, do you us an on camera and if so what brand/model do you use and any pros/cons? Thanks in advance.
Good Sunday morning,
I am looking at the Olympus 40-150 Pro with 2X converter but would be interested in information from anyone who has used the Panasonic lenses with the Olympus body. How is speed, AF and IQ. Does the OIS sync with the in body IS? Any practical info will be appreciated.
Thank you for your response, I'm really leaning toward the Olympus but with budget I would want to sell the Canon/Tamron package or individual. Unfortunately, I just recently purchased the Tamron about 4 months ago and am wishing I had considered the new system before the purchase. John
Many thanks to all of you who replied. I do use an optech sling strap and lowpro sling 250 pack. When comparing the weights, seams the M1 Mark II and either the 12-100 or 75-300 combined still weigh less than the Tamron 100-400 lens alone. With this system, it seems I could also go to a smaller/lighter carry system.
Anyone who has used the Olympus, please respond with your thoughts and experiences. I am a 71 year old disabled vet with bad back and strength issues stemming from a form of ALS, and the Canon w/18-135 and Tamron 100-400 is getting difficult carry. I am considering a change to the Olympus and comparable lenses. I understand they are two completely different forms of camera but interested in pic quality and whatever your thoughts are on the Olympus. I am on a limited budget but don't want to give up on photography. Most of pictures are a mix of travel, zoo and wild life. I am considering selling the Canon and lenses to off set the cost of the Olympus, what are good prices for them? Thanks in advance. John
You can do a search on the "user list" and PM him, hope that helps.
Tuomi, check with Nikonbrain, he has a friend in the Tampa FL are who has a Tamron 150-600 in like new condition and price is about right. You might work a deal.
Dleebrick, I really like it, have been able to get some really nice bird pictures, it's a better lens than I am photographer. I'm hoping I can master it for the Blue Angel air show in Pensacola in November.
LOL, I agree, it just makes me curious. It's a better lens than I am a photographer.
It isn't a big deal, but my 80D identifies my Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD as a Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM. Have any of you guys experienced this and can this be updated to id the correct lens? Since I am just an amateur enjoying photography, this isn't a big deal, but I am curious about what is happening.
