I’m enjoying reading how so many of us photography hobbyists served in the military. I bought my first 35mm camera, an Olympus 35RC rangefinder from the PX at Ft Hood Texas. A roll of 36 exposure 25ASA Kodak transparency film including processing sold at the PX for $.99.

By now we all should have been contacted and completed a census form. Here’s a cute poem that was found in my Aunt Mabel’s scrap book, written in the early 1900s.
I know that it applied to my own mom and her mom as well.

You’ve had a lot of experience to share!
Thanks for your reply
Thanks for your note. Ridge Road (Route 104) is much less congested today.
I apologize if this has been posted before, I don’t get to read all past UHH articles.
I’m from Rochester NY - Kodak Country and many of my friends are/were Kodak retirees and have left to retire in other states.
This of course would be of great interest to them.

Thank you for your service!
October 26, 1972 I was drafted into the Army, I remember doing the same
I’ve been an Olympus film camera user since the 1970s, having purchased a 35RC model at the Army PX at Ft Hood, TX. And many newer models since.
I owe a great debt of gratitude to the Olympus company as my wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2017 when the medical staff at Strong Memorial Hospital used one of their endoscopes to locate the cancerous tumor and aim their biopsy device and retrieve tissue in their diagnosing her cancer. Two and a half years later my wife is still alive!! Thankfully Olympus will continue to provide these types of photographic equipment to the medical field.
I remember when our son came home from his first Army tour in Iraq he was sitting quietly and speechless in our back yard. I asked if something was upsetting him and he told me that he was merely “soaking in all the greenery” “it’s so calming” “there’s nothing at all like this in Iraq” “the people in Iraq have never experienced this”
You’re photos prove this about the color green, thanks for sharing.....
Very nice photos
Welcome to the forum
I live in NYS
Our state’s population is dropping and everyone knows that high taxes are the number one reason.
We have three grown sons, all three have left NYS, never to return.
