I have the 14 pro, still learning all the possibilities, but the quality of the photos have exceeded my expectations and that is without using it's raw files yet. The only drawback for me is that using the phones screen for composing the shot is not as good as using the viewfinder on a camera.

I went through the exact same decision calculus recently. Like you, my wife and I are planning a trip to Europe in 2021 and I don't want to carry my D850 or other digital cameras with interchangeable lenses, so I started looking at alternatives.

I ended up with a Leica Q2. Has a fixed 28mm lens, 47 MP sensor. You can electronically "zoom" (i.e., crop) to 35, 50 or 75mm focal length. I have used it for about 3 weeks now, and the image quality is superb. It's a nice compact camera that's easy to carry all day -- to me, it's pretty much the "perfect" travel camera.

I agree, I recently upgraded from the Q to the Q2 and it is not only a good
travel camera but a good hiking camera I use it with the Leica shoulder strap and hardly know I am carrying it.

I had originally the Z6 with the F4 sense. I traded it was good for low light and with the latest firmware updates acceptable when autofocusing.
About 6 months ago after a lot of soul-searching I traded in th f4 for the f2, I wondered if there would be a noticeable difference. There is, both for faster autofocus and low light. If you can run to it I would go for the f2.8.

I have a Z6 and I traded in my F4 for the F2.8 and have not regretted it.

The F4 is good but the 2.8 is noticeably better.

I have the Z6 together with the 24-70 kit lens and Tamron 70–200 F2.8 G2 and a Tamron 2x teleconverter.

The low light ability of the camera to produce virtually noise free shots is extraordinary even using fairly high ISO’s.

With the teleconverter on the autofocus could sometimes be hit or miss but the latest firmware update has made it really more than acceptable.

I have the Z6 and upgraded it last week so it now has the latest focus improvements and eye detection. It took less than 10 minutes and is a very straight forward procedure. If you purchase a camera that hadn’t had the upgrade I am sure the dealer would do it for you before you left the shop.

If you take the plunge I am sure you will not be disappointed.

I have had the Q for several years and it is a joy to use and carry. It will fit in a pocket in my safari jacket or in a small section of a camera bag.

If I am using my Nikon with a long lens I will usually bring the Leica along too to cover all bases.

You will not regret your purchase.

I have the Nikon Z6 which I use for telephoto work with a Tamron 70-200 F2.8 G2 and sometimes a Tamron 2x Teleconverter.

Images are very sharp, with the converter on sometimes a little slower to autofocus but no noticable image degradation.

As has already been said it will all depend on the lenses that you are using with the converter.

I can understand your frustration. This is another example of the uselessness of posting, "Read the manual." I spent time online and looking through the manual, but I didn't find an answer. If I owned a Z6, I would spend more time, but why does Nikon make it so difficult to get information from a manual? "Shooting modes" is not in the manual. "Continuous shooting" appears twice, but it doesn't say how to do that - the same with "burst shooting."

Many thanks Jerry,

This works so simply.

I was looking in the photo shooting menu and the custom setting menu but should have looked at the Camera body description.

Thanks again. Ray

I have LR 6 and a Z6.
My LR version also does not resolve NEF raw.
I downloaded Adobe DNG converter and it is a simple operation to drag all the NEF files into it and they change to DNG raw.
Hope this helps
