We're off to Israel in October as well! I'm really looking forward to it! Happy shooting!
Beautiful photos! Can you tell us what town/country you were in?
I recently purchased a strap from https://www.blackrapid.com/camera-slings/ I used it on my Canon r5 walking all around Paris last week. It left my hands free if needed or was right there to grab and shoot. It was also comfortable to wear.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
I'm heading to Paris in a few weeks. Bringing my Canon R5 with the RF 24-105MM. Is that enough or should I also bring the RF 50MM? Or the 50mm instead? I'm also bringing my Leica M10-P with a 35mm lens for street photography. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I traveled to Croatia and Montenegro several years ago with my Canon EOS Mark IV. I never felt unsafe anywhere and took thousands of photos- for what it's worth.
Just adding my two cents here. I went on an African safari several years ago in South Africa. Besides doing a lot of research ahead of time about photographing animals, etc., what I found was that at each of the two camps we stayed at, our guide was extremely knowledgeable about photography! Once they realized I was serious about MY photography, they gave me lots of advice. If I asked what would be the best settings, they told me. They went out of their way to position our vehicle in great spots for great pictures. At 1 of the camps at night, the guide helped me load my pictures onto an external drive and then do some minor Photoshop/LR edits with me! It had never occurred to me to go on a safari with a professional photographer- but what a great idea. I guess I'm saying, in my case at least, it wasn't necessary. Good luck, it will be great!

I have been a Canon user for many years. I have also acquired many Canon EF lenses. I bought the EOS R5 along with an adapter to use my existing lenses on my new camera. I have to say, it wasn't the same! I wasn't getting the clear great shots I was used to. I ended up purchasing both the 24-70 and the 24-105 lenses- the RF lenses meant for the new R5. I had to search high and low on-line to find them. Be patient- they're worth the wait!
I literally just updated the firmware this afternoon! I had to google a tutorial on how to do it, but it worked. Unfortunately, i haven’t used my camera yet so can’t speak to anything different i would notice? From what I’ve read, it has mostly to do with the video features. Good luck!
Thank you all- those suggestions work, depending on what I needed!
Interesting- I will definitely give that a try!
I have been a Canon user for over 20 years and just recently purchased the R5. For some reason the AF grid seems to move around the screen after several shots, ending up on the far right/left, etc. I have to remember to see where it is and move it back to center, potentially missing a shot. Is there a way to keep it in the center? I have gone through the camera menus as well as uploaded the Canon manual. I'm sure I'm missing something simple?! Any solutions? Thanks in advance!
