Hopped over to HWY 30 from I84 along the Columbia River Gorge to check out the scenery. It was a rainy day and still the parking lots were nearly filled.

Haven't had many dramatic sunsets this season. This is the best I've seen so far and no weather came our way.

As I brought the truck to a stop and was reaching for my Sony RX10IV just in case one marmot stuck his head up and stayed there long enough for me to take a few photographs. I hope you like them. All are SOOC except for the first two where I cut down on highlights on the beam in the background.

When I was in high school our music/band instructor had a small band that played dinner houses on Saturday nights. I don't recall why, but he was in need of a drummer so he hired me. This was one of many numbers we played.

You are so right, regardless of the state or town. I have so many memories of my youth in a small town and the buildings in Carroll County IA.
