This was taken years ago. Since then a large mirror glass building was erected on the other side of the East River that ruins the image.
You made a good photo into a great photo. Nothing wrong with that.
Number five is a terrific photo. The lighting and composition, just great.
I like the oversaturated blues and greens.I think that's just a matter of taste.
Abo, I agree. The composition and geometry are, in my opinion, excellent.
Beautiful, simple and captivating. Enter it. It's a winner.
Great shots. The Purple Gallinule is one of my favorite birds but I've never been able to catch it in flight. I am impressed. Here is one taken in the Everglades in 2010 with a Canon S2 IS point and shoot superzoom.
CHG_CANON is 100% correct, and we should learn to use our cameras, but if those technical skills are still beyond us, there is a simple way to handle this problem. With the camera in auto, set the exposure compensation to -1.This should capture most, if not all of the blown highlights. The leaves will be dark but the information will be there if you want to bring it up later. Not as accurate as the above, but it works most of the time with bright flowers on dark green backgrounds.
Also, back up a bit so you can capture the top of the flower. And I think this image will look much better cropped in portrait mode.(But that's just my opinion.)
Thanks for the comments. A lot of luck was involved in the shot. The sun was low and behind me so the undersurface of the bridge was not in deep shadow. Not a magic phone.
This low angle shot was taken from Brooklyn Bridge Park with my I Phone 6. The park runs from the Manhattan Bridge, along the water front to the southern end of Brooklyn Heights. It is a wonderful park with green space, nature trails and skyline views. A great place to take your camera.
Great shot! Even better if you write USAA FOREVER across the top and send it to the Postal Service. It would make a wonderful stamp.
The man with the skinny legs has severe lower extremity muscular atrophy. Because it is bilateral it is most likely an injury to the spinal cord.
