I'm curious as to how someone got an image off Facebook with enough resolution to actually make a print. Aren't they just a few hundred kilobytes?

"Finding Vivian Maier" is now on Netflix. I started watching it last night, and it's amazing. The man who bought the first box of her negatives just wanted historical images for a paper he was writing for school. He eventually accumulated everything he could. There are hundreds of rolls of undeveloped film and thousands of negatives. Fascinating film.

Thanks for the heads-up, Jerry. I just got Netflix, so this is a real treat! Thanks.

It's perfect the way it is. Don't change a thing.

I'd go with f5.6 at 1/250. ISO at 800.

Rather than put your camera through all that, spend a couple hundred bucks for a Brinno time-lapse camera. I got one for Christmas and I love it. Brinno.com

Why, you read it didn't you?

It helps when other members use the search function. No one puts the word "question" in the search box. They WOULD put in "Canon on off switch". It's just a matter of consideration for others.

And yet 50% of the desktop/laptop world uses Windows compared to 16% using OS X.

I use both and the argument that one is better than another never ceases to be tiresome.

And the other 34%?

You could just come to Michigan. Pretty much the same weather. The real difference is our lack of Penguins.

I get the part about mounting the camera, but how of you tilt it to the angle you need?

Your cat recently googled "cat pictures" and found 389,000,000 pictures related to cats. His actions are understandable; he doesn't think the world needs any more cat pictures.

In a way, I understand your frustration.
I have several hobbies, I like to keep somewhat busy in my retirement.
One of those involves a 75 gallon freshwater aquarium I set up about six years ago. I learned (through study) how to make it work with a minimum of work. It's been up for the whole six years, and all I need to do for it is change 25% of the water each month, change the filter materiel every three months, and feed the fish. That's it. No die-offs, no ick, nothing but happy fish. Yes, I get frustrated when people see it and bemoan the fact that their water is green, their fish die within a month, they have no idea of the chemistry of their water, and buy the cheapest food they can. They wonder why my water is crystal clear, I have no algae, and my fish only die of old age.
Guns. Wow, there's a hobby! Learn not only how to shoot effectively, but understand interior and exterior ballistics, why there are different bullets for different tasks, the various laws involved (being in Arizona, there aren't many outside the Federal laws), and then decide to be a Second Amendment advocate and learn the truth about "gun violence", and be presented with the willful ignorance of the gun grabbers. Now that's frustration!
But photography? Interestingly, I understand that not everyone will want to put in the effort many of us have to understand the interplay of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed; what effect aperture will have on DOF; what a histogram even is.
Frustration is different for everyone. Different things will bring out that frustration. When I go to the botanical gardens and see people taking pics of a flower with their camera phone, I understand that that's what they have, and they simply don't see the need for something better. That's not frustrating for me, maybe because it doesn't impact me at all.

Different bullets for different targets, so to speak.
In a way, I understand your frustration. br I have... (show quote)

Big Bill, if I'm ever in AZ, I'm gonna look you up and buy you a beer. I like your attitude.
